No club from Argentina will pay his salary.
Hence we pay it. Say River can offer €2m, we pay the €5m difference to his expected 7 (or whatever it is). With this move we might get a promising youngster like Bentancur in return. The alternative is to just terminate his contract, with him wanting €5m and us getting nothing for it. Might as well pick up promising youth like we did when Tevez left.

I remember Bellerin was very solid for Arsenal before that nasty injury. He basically was starting all the games for them and always manage to get a few assist per season. His main asset was his speed. Plus, I don't recall him as a soft player. Looks like the ACL destroyed him though as he came back in September and played only 15 games.

@JuveJay would you comment on Hector?

If he extends, he should get a shot in the midfield in my opinion.
When he extends he ll earn close to 20m gross and we pay that, cos he is a monster LCB.

He has been average whenever played in midfield for Austria.

BTW, Kimmich and Goretzka ll be starters in midfield, if Thiago is being sold (ruining my transfer summer, as I love him:depressed:)

Nah but we'll have two shitty RBs* that will be tough to get rid of in the future.

*I don't know how good or bad he really is
Agree he will probably want at least 5 mil. net .
We will probably push cuads to fight it out with kulu for the amr spot and we will remain with 2 jabronis at rb.

Edit. Make no mistake he is bad as he was benched by Cedric Soares and Ainsley Maitland Niles in the last month and a half.

:boh: if Khedira doesn't leave...

I can see us working with

Arthur/Rabiot-Bentancur-Aouar(?)
Bit light though. You'd want one extra mid that's half decent if not a real headache causer for Pirlo. The reference point is that golden midfield era 6-7 years ago. We had Marchisio who was one of the best bench options you could've had and then eventually left Allegri with no choice but to play Vidal as a trequestista and include Marchisio in the diamond.

That's the sort of position you want to be in in midfield. Especially because we don't know how Arthur will fair.

Agree, just saying what I expect to happen. If Khedira doesn't find a new club he'll be our 6th mid.
