Last 5 years I agree it's fair to say Bundesliga has done better. That coincides with the collapse of Milan, and to a lesser extent Inter, Roma, and being replaced by Napoli and more recently Lazio and Atalanta. That's a change from experienced clubs with tradition and history to those with little pedigree trying to punch above their status.

I also think there is more potential in Serie A to be a stronger league. And I say that with Germany essentially adding a strong team from nowhere (Leipzig) because of RB. Maybe we might be saying the same thing about Monza in a few years. But football is increasingly about money, so maybe I'm being naive.

It's also true that Serie A clubs treat EL group games like Coppa Italia ties all too often. Not all the time but it's not a priority. Which to me makes no sense as they all fall over each other to qualify for Europe, yet when the European games come around they would rather fight for league places to again finish in Europe...this to me suggests it is more about money and reaching managerial targets and prestige (for signing players) than thinking they can actually win the trophy.

As it stands there are a bunch of Serie A clubs who could potentially win the EL when you look at who is in and around those places in Serie A, or at least makes the semis. It rarely happens.

Lazio got 6 points from a group containing Celtic, Cluj and Rennes this season. Last year Milan finished behind Olympiakos. A few years back Sassuolo finished bottom of their group, and that was after winning their first game. Bundesliga can get away with having one elite team and others 10 points back but Serie A cannot because they rely on CL points probably more than EL points.

Bundesliga has been good last years, but it remains a close call in my opinion.

There are some differences that we’ve to take in consideration, as Germany has a stronger economy than Italy, but also a far better and saver climate around the stadiums. Safety has been a big problems for years and the overall conditions of the stadium is something we all know - but there is improvement as a lot of clubs are planning or building. Overall this point is costing a lot of money for Serie A clubs, and money is basically everything in football, and as I said there is improvement regarding safety and stadiums.

Then there’s also the homegrown players, Germany won a worldcup and had some really strong players, we didn’t had that last 5-10 years, but at the moment we’re waiting for the next generation to explode, as we have a lot of interesting talents nowadays. No Nesta, Pirlo, Del Piero etc who are acknowledged as worldclass players.

Our oldschool mentality regarding the EL still exists nowadays as you say and is definitely costing the Serie A points.

We can surpass the Bundesliga easily when Inter and Milan get by. We, as Serie A, have been the sleeping giant of European football last decade.

Personally I’m very optimistic as we have the new tax rules, a lot of plans for stadium, Zhang who’s doing a nice job at Inter, Atalanta who perhaps can reach Dortmund/Atlético levels and Rangnick, who I consider a great director at Milan. Friedkin at AS Roma can become an interesting figure aswel. We really missed the boat of foreign investors in the Serie A, especially if we compare it to the PL. Then there are the plans of changing the Serie A into a media company. It will take another 5 years I guess, but I feel we’ll come back strong.

How is Cavani these days? Is he still that hard working striker? Could be perfect for our full press that we tend to use. Because I'd much rather have him for free than Jimenez or Milik.

Cavani should go to MLS, he's like 100 years old already. Or atleast he should stay away from Juve.

Cam and his Dzeko talks.. those have lasted way longer than the never ending Cassano to Juve saga. :sergio:

Cavani is done at high level. Would rather have Dzeko if we are getting and cheap old striker.

Btw I'm surprised there are no Belotti links yet. The dude is a solid striker and still pretty young and we can surely include Bernardeschi or Rugani to lower his price.
Rather get Belotti for 40/50 + a player then throw that money on Zapata or Milik despite the latter being quite good but a injury prone player.

Juventus want to sign a striker, they already have an agreement with Milik but not with Napoli. The Bianconeri want to complete the operation via exchanges with Rugani and Bernadeschi. Zapata's name has also been mentioned but the price is much higher, Atalanta asking for more than €50m. [Fabrizio Romano]

You won't see players earning 4mln joining Torino.

Dont know about Jimenez but Cavani is done..
Milik - I rather have like a million other players.

Someone mentioned Dzeko - Only if the price is low (Would Roma accept Rugani in a part exchange?)

Bring in Boga, Zaniolo, and a quality CM. We don't need a starting level CF - just continue allowing Dybala and Ronaldo to blossom into a formidable partnership. We should bring in a CF who is willing to sit on the bench, play the last 15-20 minutes, and start the "easier" games. Go all our for Haaland in the summer of 2021.
