Only real weaknesses I can see is in midfield when you compare is to the big guns in Europe. Pogba without losing Pjanic would make this team incredible but no way we can stretch it more financially without taking risks that could come and bite is in the ass in the future.
You are spot on.

There are, or were, a few decent opportunities to cover this shortfall of talent in the CM area without breaking the bank (eg Nzonzi), but most of the bargains in the €20m-€50m range have been snapped up.

Anyway we are no good to go against Chievo on Matchday 1 on August 18th.

My only concern now is how I’m going to watch it here in London now that BT Sport has lost the Serie A contract to Eleven Sports who haven’t as yet signed a deal to televise it on the Sky platform.

I agree with your initial point of the post: people are spoilt and should be ashamed. We sign Ronaldo and they still bitchh and moan. I dont like losing Caldara either but i really like signing Cr7 so yes, its a sacrifice ill gladly take. Higuain is to expensive to be kept, plain and simple.

However on the bolded part: we absolutely could use another creative mid. Expecting only Pjanic and Bonucci to create and orchestrate play troughout the whole season is naive to me and definitely a weakness.

Kovacic wants out, i really wish we would go for him. Delicate player with fantastic passing and eye for a killer pass.
Its definately the weaker part of our team but I dont think its a glaring weakness that other teams can easily exploit without us being able to cope or change.
I think we have a lot of options building out of the back now including Sandro and Cancelo as well as Pjanic,Dybala and costa not to mention playing the ball quickly in to Ronaldo. Not perfect in the midfield but dont think its a glaring weakness but you could argue aginst that I think

The one that got us our first scudetto after Calciopoli.

If we sign a class midfielder, then it's gonna be a perfect mercato.
I think the great signing was Conte and not really the players..
Our problem was more a mental one than a quality one..

As for this mercato - There is no doubt C.Ronaldo is a great addition while Cancelo isnt bad either but the truth is its still not perfect as our weak area was our midfield and the only difference in midfield is Can
It is true we made a great change in attack by sending fatso to Milan and replacing him with the best forward in the world but our midfield can still be much better..
If we get Pogba without selling Pjanic it would definitely be a 10/10 mercato and this is despite the fact we have got fucked by Milan over Caldara..

We need to sell to buy IMO. That midfield is packed.
Sturaro, Matuidi, Khedira, Bentancur, Can, Pjanic, Marchisio: 7 midfielders for 3 spots. Currently the team is set up for 3 man midfield, considering our depth on forward:

But at midfield, we still have 6 for 3 even with Sturaro gone. And the problem is that other than Marchisio & Bentancur: the remainder (Pjanic, Matuidi, Can, Khedira) all expect to be vying for a starting spot.

We need an athletic, player who is good on the ball and can run with some sort of velocity to link our midfield and attack. And there aren't a lot of players like that: Pogba, Kante, SMS, Hamsik, Modric, Nainggolan, Goretzka, A.Herrera, Kovacic, Bonaventura, H.Herrera, Saul, Manu Trigueros.

Hamsik, Nainggolan would never come here.
Goretzka was just bought
Modric is likely either not going to be sold or could go to Inter.
Saul likely doesn't leave Atletico
Bonaventura, Trigueros are not Juve caliber
H. Herrera is 28, and has played in an inferior league, likely isn't Juventus caliber, and is far too ugly for this team.
So that leaves us with: Kovacic, Pogba, SMS, Kante, A.Herrera. Pogba, SMS, and Kante will cost an arm and a leg.

Kovacic:
-Could be an obvious choice due to age, and versatility.
-Cheaper than Pogba, Kante, SMS
A.Herrera
-Could be a bargain, if right price is offered. His contract is up at year end.
-He is a complete midfielder, but like Pogba is hamstrung in a deep position. He didn't score last year. But in other systems he has shown ability. If we sold Khedira, he would be just as effective and shouldn't be too pricey.

Conclusion:
Either sell Khedira & buy Kovacic or... offer United a straight swap: Khedira for Herrera. Both players have expiring contracts.

Or:
make our dreams come true and buy Pogba. lol.

Bonucci was already Juve legend before he left.
I agree ..... though lost that status AFTER he left, only can regain it if he 1) plays well 2) in getting Juve a CL title. Honestly I don't think he is needed in getting them a trophy but Ill give him the legend title if he contributes enough towards it.
