I think we’ll be seeing a lot of three man backlines this season with this move. Can’t see them just completely benching Benatia and Rugani needs to play too. Cancelo and Sandro are more offensive minded players anyway.

I don’t think we will at all. 4-3-3 (or 4-3-2-1) will be our main go-to formation given the players we have at our disposal.

What would be the ideal CB pair, granted Benatia stays? I feel like he had a solid season but will probably get auto-benched now with Bonucci returning.

I reckon Bonucci-Chiellini will be the CB pair again, imo Allegri doesn’t trust Benatia at all as an undisputed starter. Bonucci isn’t as good as Benatia as a pure defender imo, but his ball-playing skill is obviously superior and will help us against high-pressing teams. I reckon Rugani will see a lot of game time too this season.
