But you see, they don't sell their best players, so they can add one or two pieces every year. If you check their sales, their revenue from sales is also significantly lower than ours.
Net spend meaning they dont invest as much money in their squad as us. They sold us their best winger who is not a thousand years old. They also sold Kross to Real and after next mercato probably Lewa.

Dybala is my favorite player in the current squad, and I would much rather sacrifice Higuain, but if we are going to improve our midfield significantly this year at least one of our most valuable assets will be sold

“..#Lotito and #Marotta went together, almost arm in arm and talking amiably..and went together to Andrea Agnelli who was waiting in the car.”

“..Marotta and Lotito laid the foundations for a normal, if not collaborative, relationship.”

[CalcioMercato]

So it was a very Intelligent thing not to negotiate with De Vrij ... waiting for the most valuable one in LAZIO :flag1:
Walked arm in arm amiably, waiting for a third man in the car...

Sounds like an awesome gay porno. I wanna watch it.

Invalid.

One has been written off as flop and the other one was allowed to leave to Real cause he asked for too much money and Bayern didn't consider him that important. Bayern do NOT sell their (in their opinion) best players, at least i can't think of one.

I understand what net spend means; and no, Bayern's net spend over the past 5 seasons, make that 3 in fact, is superior to ours. They don't spend a lot, but they also don't sell as much as we do.

Bayerns net spend over 5 years is 166 mil pounds, ours is 121 mil pounds...the difference is nothing when you compare the respective revenues of the clubs

We sold Pogba, Bonucci and Vidal...they sold Kroos, Costa and are probably gonna end up selling Lewa
Costa wasn't a key player for them, and most Bayern fans were glad to see him leave. Lewa hasn't left yet, and will be 30 in August. Kroos is indeed world class and was a bad decision by their board.

We sold Vidal for chump change and never adequately replaced him. Pogba's sale was inevitable, but it was a shame nonetheless; a young guy with tons of potential, and we (had to) let him go (I suppose). Bonucci wanted a new challenge, and he's already 30, so fuck him.

Can you guys stop bringing up Costa as example for Bayern selling key players. It's ridiculous. Lewa isn't gone yet, IF he goes (for a huge fee) he'll most likely be replaced by a young worldclass player.

Btw. They are going to buy James for a combined sum of €55m or so.

Selling Pogba was brilliant business
You're also comparing a 23 year old, at the time, to a soon to be 30 year old.

Selling Dybala is never good business. Selling a 30 year old Higuain for 70-80 million is good business. Selling Alex Sandro for 70 million is borderline. Getting an offer of 80-90 million for Pjanic and accepting it is also potentially good business.

Now you are just contradicting yourself

No. I'm assessing and evaluating the importance of certain players, as I see them. I'm not only factoring performances on the pitch, but also marketability, global appeal, etc...

Vidal's sale hurt us far more than Pogba's on the pitch, for example. However, in terms of marketability and exposure, the Pogba sale hurt us a lot more. No one in our current midfield setup guarantees that type of exposure.

Real have Ronaldo, Barca have Messi, EPL clubs have their overall product, and we have Dybala. Buffon is possibly retiring at the end of the season, and he is/was also a global icon for many.

I'm not endorsing those sales btw; I never want us to sell our best players. I just think, objectively, that if we were to receive offers in that range for those particular players, we could potentially replace them with the cash influx. When it comes to Dybala, his value extends far beyond the pitch.

So essentially you are boiling this down to the pogba sale and the potential sale of Dybala, correct?
