We reached consecutive CL Finals with Zidane in 97 and 98, and the CL Semis in 99. We were incredibly unlucky in 2000, as we would've and should've won Serie A, if not for Collina's insistence to allow our game against Perugia to continue on a waterlogged pitch. We lost the Scudetto by 1 point in 2000 and missed out by 2 points to an epic Roma team in 2001. Ancelotti's inexperience and some misfortune prevented us from winning 4 out of 5 titles between 1997 and 2001.
In 97 and 98 we were a totally different team compared to 99 00 01.. I mean 97 98 We were peaking and then came the DP injury in 99 and then things changed
so to 97&98 are not comparable..
Unlucky in 2000?! Yes the Perugia game was an unlucky one but to be honest we had enormous luck during the whole season winning 1-0 every game and the truth is the best team won the scudetto that year and Lazio triumph over us was more than just justified.
Of course I would like us to still win it but the truth is Lazio won it and they deserved it..

Anyway lucky or not look at the facts -
Not winning scudetto<winning scudetto
Finishing last in group stage < Reaching a final

I didnt say Nedved>Zidane as its obviously not true even if both are great players who won the "Golden Ball"
But I will say this:
Nedved+Buffon+Thuram+Cannavaro>Zidane and that was my point in first place

Back on topic I hope Dybala stays but Im sure we have a plan if he doesnt and who knows maybe the plan is even better then again maybe it isnt..
The only things that are true to this point are:
1. Dybala is a great player
2. We tend to sell our stars and get other players instead and life move on

Marchetti, Spinazzola, Caldara, Wendel, R. Pereira, Can, Jankto, Martial.
No thanks, great and free, great and free, no thanks, not bad, sure he is free, talented young player, a mystery - would prefer other gamble.
Overall if we sell no one we would improve on depth and talent but we wouldnt improve the areas which we really need to improve..

For me any mercato that doesnt has SMS in it is a wasted mercato - SMS is one of the best players in his position and is a player we could and should get - not signing him to me shows a lack of ambition

'No contact for Bellerin’ | Football Italia

Hector Bellerin’s agent says there has been “no contact” from Napoli or Juventus for the Arsenal full-back.

Both clubs have been linked with a move for the Spanish right-back, with the Gunners likely to be out of the Champions League next season, unless they can win the Europa League.

“There’s no contact for Bellerin, no-one has sought me out,” Albert Botines said on Radio Crc.

“He’s happy, he’s recently renewed and he’s playing consistently. It’s true that every player always wants to grow, but right now it’s difficult [to see him leaving].

“I have a close relationship with [Napoli sporting director Cristiano] Giuntoli, he’s a friend. I also know [President Aurelio] De Laurentiis and I follow Napoli.

“If the Azzurri were interested in some of my clients I would listen, because - just like Juventus - Napoli are not only a great team in Italy but also now in Europe.

“They play the best football in Italy, very similar to the Spanish one. As a club I’d compare Napoli to Atletico Madrid.”

Juventus are monitoring Jonas Hector along with Bellerin and Kurzawa but Darmian remains the first choice. [TS/VS]
But why?

- - - Updated - - -

Hector > Darmian.

Not that any of them [except for Bellerin (he a RB though)]is better than Asamoah...

And no to Dollarumma. Let him rot at Milan.

so Hector (LB), Bellerin (RB), Kurzawa (LB and PSG player) are all alternatives to Darmian (RB that can pay LB). and since these are supposed to be AS replacements, Bellerin and Darmian make no sense anyway. if we scout them as Licht replacements it makes even less sense... classic TS

Kurzawa has become quite bad, PSG fans hate him. Now they're linked with Sandro and we're linked with their old tires :beppe:
