Talent alone is not enough, if you don't back it up with performance.

One of their best players doesn't say much. Lukaku is also one. On average he's put in like 6.5/10 kinda performances, along with some really shitty ones. How many stand out performances has he actually had?
Yes talent alone is not enough but Pogba is not some 19 yr old six month wonder who's getting found in a different environment. He's an established midfielder who was consistently quality for us and produced several world class moments. There have been many world class players who have had dips in their career and Pogba just happens to be one among them. Ignoring how good he was for us and rating him just based on his United career is a bit harsh to me. There would be very few world class players if we go by that metric.

Salah is having a break out season, doesnt make him WC yet...thats like saying Immobile is WC

Eriksen is good but not great yet, Modric is WC

Kante had 2 good seasons and that was his peak

Pogba well think the others have covered that

When I think WC, I think Neymar, Lewa, Modric, Iniesta, etc.
Salah's breakout season was in Serie A. He's easily a top 5 player in the world at the moment.

Eriksen, atleast he's close to reaching that level. So no arguments there.

Kante- not just 2 good but 2 top seasons. Also PFA player of the year last year. World class to me. One of the best in his position for sure.

Pogba- lets just agree to disagree

See basically all those players are either WC or atleast close to be WC so i dont think i see anything laughable about it. Otherwise we're just disagreeing for the sake of it.

Laughable would be considering Khedira a world class player. Now anyone would 'LMAO' at that.

This is the big fear. It's like we enjoy downgrading.

Lose Bonnucci? Ok lets get Benetia.
Lose Vidal and Pogba? Its ok we will sign Pjanic and Matuidi
Lose Pirlo? Lets rely on Marchisio
Buffon retiring? We got Sczhesney
Alex Sandro going? Sure lets sign Darmien

Is everyone blind to this?
Except for Pirlo , none of them were world class until they got here

It was a 2 way street, juve helped make Bonucci, Pogba, Vidal, Buffon and Alex Sandro great

We have not really replaced pogba and Vidal it is difficult to replace such players with our transfer budget that is why we are targeting Can pellegrini and Cristante

Even when he was here I questioned if he could truly be considered world class, because while he did produce world class moments for us, he was inconsistent on a weekly basis... though he was still generally useful because of his special qualities. And I can't recall him ever really stepping up for us on the European stage, which imo, is the real test for players at the club level.

Anyway, I'm not debating whether he was WC here or not, at least his level was much higher then.

But in his 5-year career he has 3 good seasons in Serie A, not much impact in his 4 CL campaigns, a meh Euro tournament, and 2 mediocre seasons in BPL. How is that world class?

He has world class potential, that's what I'll give him.

Actually anyone in the current United look mediocre.
Look at Sanchez.
The team beside Sanchez,Pogba and De Gear is so fucking mediocre.
So much wasted money

Unfortunate for them, huh?
The money that United spend for mediocrity is amazing. To be honest I am sick of them and if they get SMS next season it will be beyond a joke. Once they were a team that actually had a core of home grown or English players but now they are increasingly a team of mercenaries.

And the funniest part? Their fans still go on like they are a top European side. The arrogance.

Man United have literally every tool at their disposal financially and they still can't be a top 4 team.

Samp confirm Torreira price | Football Italia

Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero has revealed that Napoli want Lucas Torreira but made it clear he will only sell the midfielder for €50m.

Torreira has been linked with several top clubs in Italy and Europe after breaking through with Samp this season, and Ferrero singled out Napoli as a possible destination for the Uruguay international, while asserting he would not come cheaply.

“Torreira? Napoli understand his quality, they have a good Coach and a great President,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“They asked about Torreira, but so have other teams. How much would he cost? €50m. I don’t need to sell him, he’s fine with me. For me, he’s a phenomenon.

“Will [Coach Marco] Giampaolo stay? Certainly! We’re engaged, so we still have to figure out if we’ll get married in three years or break up in two…”

The 22-year-old plays in the same position as Partenopei rival Jorginho, who has been linked with summer moves to the Premier League.

That's a lot of Cheddar! The market is crazy... but he is definitely quality, as far as my eyes can tell. Called up to Uruguay, will be interesting to see if he gets some minutes for them.

Definitely hope he doesn't end up in Naples.

Pellegri: “We chose the best project for a youngster unlike, for example, Juventus who tend to send their youngsters on loan to play. Monaco offer a lot more space for a young player like me.”

that's why Cengiz Under prefered Roma over city ...space to play
but we can make from Roma make it our Dortmund :nico:

He's certainly been underwhelming this season for them but on form , he's still one of their best players if not the best. Any United fan will tell you that. He's a world class talent and he would elevate his performance under a better coach. Atleast for us ,he was a world class midfielder. His inconsistencies at Man United doesnt change that for me. Its not like his stock has fallen off dramatically.
I watched all PSG games and Neymar was the best player in the pitch 99% of the time, French league and CL and amazing almost every game.
By "underwhelming this SEASON" you mean "he did not play well ONE GAME - the first leg against Madrid", right?
If you dont watch the player can you at least check Whoscored or Squawka before commenting?
