Let's say we never let Morata leave and never signed Higuain. Of all the goals and points that Higuain delivered to this team be it in the CL or the league, does anyone think Morata would have delivered the goods as Higuain has?

Exclude the price. Talking only about the player.
We would've still won Serie A and probably performed just as well as we have in Europe as well.

The management made a huge mistake splashing 90 million on a guy who was playing in a team, a system, catered to him. I don't think Higuain is good enough or young enough to warrant such an investment or sacrifice, but that's just me. I would've had no problem had we bought him for 50 million and strengthened other areas, instead of investing a shitload of money, sacrificing our best midfielder at the time and never properly/adequately replacing him.

I said exclude price. :D There is a reason why I asked to exclude it. I wanna know if people genuinely believe Morata would have been as productive (and decisive) as Higuain?

Strictly player talent.

Fuck Icardi!
Keep Higuain and get Balotelli for free
Balotelli when not arguing or doing his antics is a very good player.
IMO he can be as good as Icardi if he keeps his head cool

Of course not, but we wouldn't have needed him to be. Morata was epic for us in Europe, on CL nights, kinda like Boniek back in the day.

In an ideal world and mercato, I'd like us to sacrifice Higuain, Mandzukic, The Accident, Matuidi, and Benatia if we can get Martial, Pogba/SMS, and Godin.

Let me rephrase it a bit.
Pipita indeed delivered, and his price was overinflated, but he is still a wc striker. It's not that even that transfer was bad, it was wrong for us at that moment.
And of course it's not my money, come on, man.
And I do enjoy him, I support every Juve player except fucking Sturaro.

That's all I was asking for. Wasn't a trick question by any means :D

We are not gonna replace him 1:1. If we sell him, it's undoubtedly because Allegri don't think he is suited for the 18/19 team ie. Allegri wanna role with a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1/4-4-2 with emphasis on Dybala and wingers.

But no his 16 goals in Serie A won't be hard to replace.
This wingers & Dybala thing is a lost cause and Max knows it. His goals were so clutch, he was vital in many important games. Tey replacing his Napoli, Olympiakos & Inter goals to name a few.

I'm not asking for anything impossible tbh. All I want is one quality, superstar potential player per season. Then Beppe and Co can add all the fillers they want, as long as they can resell them later (so no insane wages and/or transfer fees).
I love me some gritty CBs...Godin & Chiellini together would be amazing. I would LOVE Gimenez here, that guy is a kamikaze and my fav CB was Montero. Guys like him make me look the other way with shitty disciplinary records because each crunching tackle makes it worth it :D

I'd still like Mario to stay but only as 2nd fiddle to the striker spot but Martial to come would be great.

SMS is the Dzeko of midfielders...world class in every aspect, does it all...would regret if we don't sign.

For me: SMS, Giminez (Godin would be a cheaper but shorter option), Martial and Can and I'd be happy as hell.

:agree: We are in agreement then. My favorite defender was Nesta tho; so much style, elegance, and grace. I was gutted when we missed out on him. After that, I really liked Maldini, Thuram, and Cannvaro. We're only discussing central defenders, right? :D

I loved Nesta and Canna. Nesta was so smooth in his tackles and Canna was agile as hell. Pound for pound Montero is the guy I'd hate to have to play against as a striker.

Maldini

If we sell Higuain for 60+ mil, I think he was a good buy, 25-30 mil depreciation for 2 very good seasons is worth it. Replace him with Martial and Balotelli :)

his depreciation is closer to 18m (90/5), his current book value at the end of the season should be around 54m. any selling price above that is pure plusvalenza. :beppe2:

but if his replacement is icardi... insert random #pirloisnotimpressed and #nogood pics.
