Chiellini never makes inane mistakes. I can think of three off the top of my head worse than anything Bonucci has done in CL.

This Bouncci for Caldara and Higuain move to me is purely financial to get in line with the Financial Fair play rules. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I see it.
Milan is probably hard balling Juve since they know they need the sale of Higuain to get in line with the FFP rules, so they are demanding Caldara. No reason to give the kid up before he even played a game.
