Key part of this mercato will be the RB. Would prefer a better option at mid too but don't dislike Matuidi.
Matuidi is alright I guess we want somebody with a lot more energy next to pjanic. Looks like we're set on 4-2-3-1 with the other supposed signings.

Oh and Marchisio - Khedira on the bench and rotating often is great. Turns our midfield from paper thin to pretty damn strong.

    Hmmmm....could this be our squad?

    GK (3): Buffon, SZCZESNY, PINSOGLIO
DEF (9): RB (CANCELO? De Sciglio?), Lichsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Rugani, Benatia, Sandro, Asamoah
MID (6): Khedira, Pjanic, Marchisio, MATUIDI, BENTANCUR, Sturaro/Rincon (1 would leave surely)
FWD (7): BERNARDESCHI, Dybala, COSTA, Pjaca, SCHICK, Mandzukic, Higuain

Squad of 25 - I am assuming that Cuadrado goes.

It's funny, our biggest weakness is our midfield and we're not getting anyone for there that will improve us. We will not win the cl with pjanic-khedira starting, just will not happen. Best thing to hope for is Marchisio is back to what he can be to partner pjanic. Our 2015 team would of beat this Madrid with ease, that was our strongest squad in the past 10 years, it was just a shame we we're facing one the best barca sqaud in history. Only way we win this thing now is if we get Verratti and another vidal type, until then we'll have 2 ghosts in midfield that disappear the whole game if they're not playing good and leave the rest of the team exposed

Well, the reason why Allegri reverted to the 4231 was precisely because he couldn't rely on the quality of a midfield 3. However, once we adapted to the 4231 - all of a sudden we lacked depth in players to bring on for the "3" in that formation. So I would argue that if we added Costa, Schick and Berna to the squad, simply adding someone like Matuidi could make the overall squad a lot stronger outside of adding a true midfield superstar (such as Verratti, Vidal, Modric etc).

IMO, I do agree Costa and berna will improve us, however if we play that exact same match with those 2 in our squad, we still lose that game, the game was lost in midfield, you cannot play a 4231 with 2 sub par mids. Madrids midfield ran a train over them, there was a massive gap between the 2 and the 3 multiple times in the game. What I argued we could've done is just overflow the midfield like how italy has done playing vs spain in recent years, sure the the quality wouldn't of matched them, but we could of suffocated them from playing their game

It does and our midfield "problem" is being blown out of proportions by everyone because of the lack of a big name and 20 dire minutes in the CL final; with Pjanic being injured and Dybala offering no support whatsoever.

If there's one question mark for me, regarding next season it's definitely Dybala's best position.

Yeah. Our 2014-15 team that barely beat Madrid 2-1 in Turin in the first leg, a Madrid that was missing Modric and Benzema, starting Ramos as a CM, and both James and Isco, it would have beat a far better Madrid with an in-form Modric, Casemiro, and Benzema, with ease. :lol2:
