Perhaps.

I thought it was dealio long ago but I think Lyon president must be holding out for the biggest bid since its still early days in the window.

We would have to change our entire system to accommodate him (go back to 3 Man midfield). Not down with that tbh considering his age and what his motivations would be.
Would not surprise me anyway, if we were to change systems again. Also Iniesta could cover a multitude of positions. I'd love to see him as classic nr 10 behind Dybala and Higuain.

Alves Pjanic Marchisio
Iniesta
Dybala Higuain

Marchisio Pjanic Iniesta
Dybala Mandzukic
Higuain

For example.

I hope we sign DiMaria... he would be an amazing addition to our midfield. Dybala could go back to his original position up front.

Got some nice rumors to warm your hearts. You guys can fap over it as much as you want as it won't happen anyway. :baus:

Have we signed anyone already?

There will always be Morata rumours. I can even see Morata rumours in 10 years time, cause his soon to be wife is italian. Marotta will try to negotiate first option on his kids.

Pjanic - New CM
Marchiso, Mandragora, Sturaro

sell everything else
Mandragora and Sturaro as backups. Are you serious? That's nowhere near good enough. I'd rather give Bentacur a chance tbh. We won't sell Khedira, and we shouldn't. He'll be kept as a backup, if not a starter in a 3 man midfield. In 2018 we can go for SMS from Lazio.

Bonucci and Sandro in 2017

Dybala in 2018 or 19
Excellent strategy :baus:

He has his flaws and has been inconsistent winger, but you have to agree the extreme negativity about him here has become overboard? Like he is completely useless dud who couldnt possible be of use at all.
He's not completely useless, but he isn't a signing to get excited about. He's inconsistent and limited. I'd rather we go for someone with more potential and upside. A Douglas Costa signing would be extremely disappointing in my book.

I don't want Morata. Not because I don't like him, but because we have Higuain, Mandzukic, Dybala, Kean and probably Schick who occupy his positions more than adequately. We need wingers goddamnit!

Let me ask again: Who's gonna score in the League then? Morata?

We would have lost the league with Morata instead of Higuain.
It does make you wonder if there was a better investment of 100MM than Higuain...

Higuain was great in the league, but he is a big game choker. A player like Morata for 100MM would have been aggressive and he is inconsistent, but you HAVE to wonder whether for 100MM there were better options than Gonzalo.
-Benzema
-Cavani
-Griezmann
-Lacazette
-Falcao

Those would have been cheaper...and without the big game mental block.

I understand weakening a rival being important by grabbing him from Napoli, but I still always thought Higuain's mental softness in big games is a real problem.

Also realistically, without Higuain, Dybala would have played in a more advanced role.

Spend around 60m for a striker who has a disappointing record in the league? Granted, he has a great record in the CL for us, but 60m? C'mon he's not worth it. Its not like having him in the team guarantees us CL or anything.
If he had 7 goals and 7 assists that doesn't have to mean he'd have poor numbers until he dies. He was also pretty young and he offered something to the team, his style was/is kinda unique and it was great having him here.

Dzeko did great this season while he was quite poor last year.

I'm not saying he's worth 60mln, though.

Well we own the league so we won't depend on him but he'll be a great even as a sub in the CL and i think he will be cheaper

Morata can be very useful in the CL.
But it's spending 50-70million on a luxury player when instead we could use that money to shore up positions which need shoring up, like the midfield and the wings. Our CL loss wasn't down to our strikers, it was down to an overrun midfield and lack of creativity in the final third (and Real being damn good).

Schick shares very similar characteristics as Morata but is 4 times cheaper (and with big potential) so we can invest in big names in other areas.
