There is way too much hype around young players this days. Score a couple nice of goals and suddenly you are a super star.

And this is an issue here in South America. Everyday you hear about the next Messi or the next Neymar. Clubs and players only want to get that "big" money (2-5M) move to Europe and that's it.

Just look at Gabigol, a nobody that was hyped to death and where is he now?

And these might be players with lots of potential but it is hard to keep your feet on the ground at 18 suddenly earning millions and hearing from everybody that you are already a super star. Lots of players fall through the cracks, wander a few years in Europe and then go back to their countries or china, etc.

As a result the quality of the national teams and leagues has nose dived. 15-20 years ago Brazilian and Argentinian teams were true heavy weights and actually could compete with European teams at the Intercontinental Cup. Nowadays South American teams have no chance of beating European teams.

Only for us to incur a FIFA transfer ban. But then again, if there's anyone who can find loopholes around a transfer, it's Beppe.

I hope Mbappe stays at Monaco, has a couple of low key seasons out of the spotlight, and then Beppe picks him up for 50-60 million.

The chuzalongos football agency. We scout kids in the Andes and ship them to terrorize Europe.
:D

Would love to see him here, but it even more unlikely then Neymar coming to us while we were shit (remember when we were linked :touched: )

Mbappe isnt a work horse but he is so good at the other stuff and thats why I put him there - everytime he touched the ball you could see how much attention he got and he still wasnt entirely shut down...

How much is our transfer kitty for the coming window - did anyone say something about it?

- - - Updated - - -

Bernardeschi 40M Fabinho 30M Schick 25M - 95M
Lemina 20M Licht 10M - 30M

65M isnt much and is quite doable - Is it the type of reinforcement we want thats another question..
He is an attacker, he has 6 goals in the frigging knockout stages. He does not need to defend, if we signed him we would be much more lucky and hardly consider him to do defensive work, but to keep the shape atleast. He is an 18 year old who made our great defense very nervous every time he was around the ball. Says it all.
Yea yea, but Orgut said this "Dribbling shooting passing crossing and need to understand they`ll need to play like a work horse..Players that fits the bill perfectly". Was assuming that he thinks the kid can defend too.

Most of these youngsters are selfish players as well, right? If you take Gabigol as an example, he was allowed to dribble and play selfish in Brazil. Gifted enough to break up less organized opponents, but not in Serie A. That's the thing with most of these talents. It takes a lot of adapting. Many can't change and will fail. Dybala joined Palermo at 18 and had the mindset to learn and adapt. Gabigol will forever emulate Neymar and never success in Serie A. Could do well in Premier League or La Liga though.
Those who can adapt will be successful.

There's no way Licht is going for 10 Mil...If he leaves he will leave for 2 mil tops. And no one will pay more than 15 mil for Lemina. I know the English clubs are dumb but there are too many Leminas around to choose from that go for way lower than 20 mil.
