Mandzukic is one of the reasons the formation has been a success. In order to take him out, you'd need to add a player with equal workrate, but with more talent...not easy to find.
Yeah his workrate is great, but saying that we can't do better than Mandzu as LW..? Come on.

Name some alternatives
Dude use your brain for a change. Mandzu isn't LW, period.

^^ stop being a kid. Plenty of LW i the world, if you really think we can build with mandzu as LW you're a joke. He isn't the main reason 4231 works better than 352. It's just that 352 wasn't competitive enough in CL, modern football requires wingers. Mandzu can do the work because he's tireless but thinking he's the best we can do on the wing is a lack of objectivity.

Almost every talented player who can play on the left it better than Mandzukic and Mandzukic is doing a great job fulfilling a role that he isnt best suited to
Cuad is also not the best winger although he does possess some quality in him he is a bit brainless
Lets say we would be better in terms of quality with Sanchez or B.Silva on the right and Di Maria/James on the left

I don't think it's fair to call Cuadrado brainless. He can play several roles and his defensive positioning is pretty good. His decision making isn't bad either, it's just his final ball lets him down often.

better starting xi is and should always be the priority.
IMO yes...and if it cannot be done right away...bring in players that are of equal quality or better than the ones starting, to give them a run for their money for that starting spot.

All of this is true. We cant say Mandz is not doing a great work..he is. But to say he is a dead end is illogical.

One thing is for sure.. we need to aim to try to sign players of superior quality and continue pushing the team to higher standards. Madrid collect talented players for fun and it has given them dividends because of depth. We should aim to do teh same.. but in an intelligent way like beppe knows how to do.

I don't know what games you've been watching but Mandzo's role in the team is absolutely necessary. He's the reason why this formation works so well.

Imagine how good we could be without useless scrubs like Mandzukic and Cuadrado.

We might actually have a chance to win the Championsleague.
:agree:

Salah and Costa would have secured it for us :andyandbarcelona:

The french rat we sold to bayern would have been the missing piece.
    new av?

the defender who couldn't stop M'Bappé, Falcao, Lemar, B. Silva...or by luck eventually not stopping CR7, Morata, Benzema, Bale, Asensio, James, Isco...? Nice jinx.

Sanchez could definitely replace Mandzukic effectively with his work rate. Not sure James could. Di Maria could.

But football isn't simply what works on paper, and Mandzukic isn't a "weak link". I do think we should build depth/ build for the future though.
