@Osman Yep, timing is everything. Im glad you mentioned di Maria, as hes another great example of that. He was fantastic his last season in Madrid but United and PSG were the richest 2 teams linked to him (cant remember City being after him) and the only ones that could afford him that late in the mercato. Real demanded a huge fee for him too. As for Falcao, I honestly forgot he even was at United, but the guy was pushed to Monaco by the group owning him for money, so no surprise they pushed for another huge sale, especially with the Monaco owner losing money to his wife and not being commited to his club anymore. But I dont think you can classify clubs as more or less preferable to top players in gereral, simply because every player thinks differently and has different motives at different stages of their careers

They got Pogba, Miki and Ibra in one window despite not being in the CL. I think they have the right to dream if things are going better than before and with it looking likely that they will actually play in the CL. EPL appeal alone makes a huge difference. EPL + buckets of money and CL money is very appealing.
Closet Man Utd fan detected? This doesn't detract from the fact that their fans are a bunch of annoying delusional shitcunts. I personally hope they keep suffering the ignominy of finishing 5th in the EPL, and making absolutely no progress. Regressing even further would be absolutely wonderful. A truly disgusting and pathetic club; the Inter of England.

Unfortunately, they will be off to the races whenever they acquire some attacking pace. Like you, I hope they get some more euro league action next year -- every aspect of their club deserves it.

Agreed about everything you just said. I only objected to the part about their weak purchasing power. Doesnt make me a united fan. And no one is as bad as Inter. Calciopoli alone will always make them all time worst club in my books.

The idea of getting sanchez would be to keep also dybala. If not is stupid.

Not that I think we will get Sanchez but that would be extremely harsh on Mandzukic. First we buy one of the best strikers in the world for €90M to take his place, then Allegri makes him a winger and we buy one of the best wingers in the world for huge amount to take his place.

james or sanchez?
Sanchez and not even close.

Selective argument, Ibra and Pogba are bigger stars and names then Verratti, so its defenitely a bigger deal then you make it out to be. They got the players despite no CL and no stability, so yes it speaks alot to their appeal. Cant be denied, so why do it?

Yeah they wont be getting many ambitious stars that have better options, but they wont be down for long more probably, but more importantly money sooths over many doubts for most players.
I think they arent great examples.

Real starrs ought to be looking for a balance between sportive succes and cash.

Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern have significant appeal in this regard. Juventus very considerable altho we are lower on the wages. PSG has quite alot of appeal since worldclass team and can match any monetary offer.

If those 4 go for a player, the EPL is out of business

If juve goes for a player early and press on his importance, they'll get the player as it will convince over the monetary argument. Not over the the above 3, and on even floor with PSG.

(i'll leave out Athletico, cause honestly i dont know where to add them in this entire thing.)

Every player below that is chosing a club which is not a big contender for the CL. Yeah, you are playing in the CL, so you'll be getting fame and attention, but you arent competing
You can also get fame and attention by playing in the overly televised EPL, on fat ass contracts

These players, who arent in the sight of a CL contender, can be persuaded to join a rich EPL juggernaut regardless of whether its in CL or not.

Miki is a great example of this.

Zlatan was 35 and nobody would pay these wages. Silly Arsenal should actually have gotten him imo.

Pogba. We are gonna disagree Osman. Pogba in my eyes is a player who decided he wants to be a new Beckham. He wants to become a brand. Not a succesfull football player. Its a very strange and unique situation.

Remain at juve another year. Force the way to real madrid like a good zidane. Would make sense.

Pogba defied logic, went to a greatly inferior team with greatly superior cash and coverage, killing his chance to join the most superior team with the most superior cash and the shared most superior coverage.

But my point is this

Players who arent in decline looking for the final big paycheck, will chose for a genuine CL contender first.

EPL has become so televised, that if you cant pick a CL contender, the difference between major EPL side out of CL and smaller side that is in CL, is actually not that significant. But earning 48000/week or 153000/week, is

Sanchez and not even close.
Harsh on Mandzu? I thought the aim was to create the best team possible, and win Seria A and CHL. But I guess we have to take Mario's feelings into account. Also we play with 2 wingers now, so he will be fighting Cuad and Pjaca for the last spot.

james or sanchez?
Sanchez us the better player and would fit this team perfectly.

Yes it would be extremely harsh on Mandzu. Should we sign Sanchez if possible? Of course.

It is not harsh on Mandzu, if he is good enough he will play. If he wants to be in a top club then there are going to be competition for starting spots. I dont see how that is harsh on a specific player, thats just the name of the game.

Beppe on Verratti:

"He's a great player who we like, even if I think it's utopian to think of him, because PSG are focusing on him and we don't have an opportunity."

He used the word 'utopian'. Close down all the rumors. Shut down all the dreams !
