Every year we purchase a top player

2011: pirlo vidal
2012: pogba
2013: tevez
2014: morata
2015: dybala sandro
2016: Higuain Pjanic
2017:
most didn't even think pirlo would turn out in the manner that he did for us considering he was injured for most of the season before many thought he was finished, Vidal was a relative unknown to many, I'd hardly call them 'top players' at the time

Pogba was not a top player when we bought him too

Vidal was BL best player the season before we bought him. Leverkusen finished 2nd just 7pts behind Dortmund and ahead of Bayern, and Vidal had 10 goals, 11 assists + the incredible defensive presence (5 tackles and 3 interceptions per game). I dont think he was unknown, just not a superstar

He is not a lurker, just an Xter who signed up and left (forums share few old timers) . I know Paris. My case was similar, I signed up 2001 (this account is my 2nd after losing first) left and had 100 posts until 2008, then started posting regularly. Wasn't really lurker most of those years I wasn't posting.

I signed up to xter long time ago but they had some database crash and so did I as I forgot my email address and password. :sigh:

Are you an admin there? I think I made a 100 posts. It's tempting to rejoin, there's some really knowledgeable posters on there. Less trolling more essays.

For me, he was. I wanted him so badly and I was sure he would come after the Heynckes statements. I still remember every detail of that saga and how poorly Bayern managed that transfer and how Völler wanted to set a statement at all costs.

Like i said he was a relative unknown to many, most on this forum didn't even know who Vidal was, As a matter of fact only Dusan and myself were the only ones really pushing for his arrival over inler who many prefered as they knew more about him. It's not like many outside of Germany even watch much Bundesliga let alone leverkusen

We have the financial power for getting a too player without selling a key player since we sold pogba, morata, pereyra, zaza, coman
but coman and zaza haven't actually been sold though...

Used to be great, forum is more quiet these days activity wise (mainly good for variety but way less lively now), social media and sites like reddits are horrible for future of forums these days. Especially for general football forums, a club only one like her has more concentration of active members and buzz. And even in that this forum is pretty unique probably in amount of daily activity.

He was unknown in this forum (because majority dont watch or follow BL), doesent mean he was unknown to the rest of the football world

I think that was the last season i had BL on freeTV in my country and saw a lot of Leverkusen games because of that (usually had 2-3 games every week in TV). He was great whenever I saw him, scored some great goals too.

I remember Van Gaal almost ruined your season when he was 5th i think towards the end of the season. Then got sacked and Bayern managed to finish 3rd and qualify for CL over Hannover i think. Was a great season to follow as a neutral

you mean the rest of the football world follow/ed the BL? - It's just a glorified version of the scottish league ffs. If Vidal was that widely known during his time at leverkusen I'm certain clubs in England and spain would be in for him, as it happens only Juve and crapoli were serious enough about him.

::lol3::

You dont know how many offers and from which teams they had. Real bought Sahin who was Dortmunds best player that season, Barca didnt need a CM obviously, PSG still wasnt rich, Bayern was after him and EPL clubs, well i dont know if anyone of them were seriously interested or not but wouldnt surprise me none of them paid attention to his game considering how clueless they are. The market for a CM wasnt that big at that time and we took the opportunity because Voller refused to sell to Bayern

I'll send a pm but if there's not much activity then there's hardly an attraction.

I guess a lot has changed then, the good guys died or got married over the years. Whichever came first.

What do you mean "less trolling"? :boh:
Pretty much what I said, as in it was a source of Knowledge during them days, especially when social media and footy sites were a rarity. Whilst watching a stream was unheard of with 56k modems. So you had heavy fingered typers and less meme.

I guess your Vidal saga and regret (first time around) is kinda like our Verratti saga and regrets... Basically player saying all the right things and wanting it but shit getting in the way.

Hopefully our Verratti story will have a belated happy ending like Vidal was for you.

United shitcunt fans discussing Verratti; so fucking delusional. People like that are the reason I despise the EPL; bunch of self entitled cunts. I mean, get into the CL first ffs! Become relevant again (hopefully never), before you start dreaming of such signings. Not every player is a money grubbing whore a la Pogba, Witsel or Oscar.
