Spinazzola keeps trying to force a transfer with Juventus. Just thinking....what if we agree to sign Howedes shortly. Could we justify getting both? Not impossible given that last season we had 9 defenders. Howedes gives us a back 3 depth while also being able to play as either full back. Spin some zola is more of an attacking full back.

Dybala had 3 seasons in Italy when we bought him for the same price. 25m was about the right price for Schick
Inflation.

Plus, players like Conti signed for 25mln.

Also, those kids from Genoa were supposed to cost quite a lot. Inter were supposed to pay around 60mln inluding heavy bonuses for them. (lol I wanna mention this because I think we'll end up signing one, if not both)

I do agree that Schick was overpaid, but not by much, considering that a garbage players nowadays costs 20mln. They are also paying it over 4 or 5 years time. He didn't prove much at Samp but he surely shows some amazing promise. He reminds me of Ibra/Morata. I think he'll end up being great for them.

Wrong translation and pulled out of context.

He said that his dream is Barcelona but many top clubs wanted him this summer.

It's going to be a real revolution of sorts next summer, and you can almost see already who we would be looking to replace players with. The 18-19 summer mercato has been very well planned in advance of important stalwarts leaving (Buffon, Barzagli, Lichtsteiner, maybe Khedira) and leaves us with room for a big signing or two, if you consider that we have Szczesny, Caldara, Spinazzola and Lirola already on our books, players who will surely step into vacated roles in the team. Making moves for players like Can, De Vrij and maybe Keita on free transfers is shrewd and gives us strong options.

I imagine Liverpool will finally do a deal for Naby Keita next year for some ludicrou fee so Can, whether he is attracted to Juve already or not, probably sees this in advance.

BTW other players who have expiring contracts in summer 2018:

Messi (lol)
Alexis
Isco
Jose Gimenez
Goretzka
Iniesta
Laxalt

Bold linked before, worth keeping an eye on. Also a few others but cold rumours.

You think Pol Lirola is good enough?

I'm quietly hoping that we somehow can get Messi on a free.

I think Lirola would be good enough as a back up or rotation, he's like a young Lichtsteiner with more technique and less cuntiness, and I think we need an athletic and attacking right back in the squad. We'll see how he develops this season, he needs a strong one to be considered. Maybe he can "do a Spinazzola" but I believe the talent is definitely there.

I hope so. I watched a little of him early last season and he looks excellent going forward.

Well, some posters are certain we've been going without a plan for years and now you say we already planned for next summer. Interesting.
