See , we can't compete with that kind of wages. Forget him.
There is no way Bayern is paying that. They are the cheapest motherfuckers on the planet.
It's 8.4mln pounds per year. He would be our highest earner but there wouldn't be a gulf between him and Higuain.
That sum is gross :D

That's nearly €10M net compared to €7M Higuaín earns. Of course that's a sizeable difference.
Gonzalo earns 7,5 mil. Dybala 7... hell even Max will earn 7 mil/year...

It was initially reported that he'll earn €7.5M over 4 years but later that changed €7M per year for 5 years. He signed a 5 year contract which is in the official press release.

Max earns €6.5M + €1.5M in bonuses.

Point is, giving another player over €9M will be a heavy payload on our wage bill which we won't do imo.

Yeah, it's actually 10.5. It's possible Bayern offers him that. I think Lewandowski earns as much now.
Especially now that Lahm and Alonso retired. Frees up the wage bill for them.

bold names look like a sideways step at best.

i'd be happy with fabinho, schick, conti, and a good winger.
1) DeS is NOT a sidestep, he's definitely a step (or five) down. Just another hyped up Milan/Inter kid. Meanwhile, Spinazzola is 10x the player he is, and is entirely ignored. Fuck this bullshit.

2) Bernardeschi isn't a sideways step. At worst he's a slight improvement for depth, at best he's one of the top transfers this summer. Will he get us CL? No. But we shouldn't really talk about CL until we get a different manager.

Also, anyone who wants fucking Keita over Bernardeschi is going to be methodically searching for their old posts in this thread after 6 months and deleting anything about Keita > Bernardeschi. Let that loser rot in Lazio or wherever else losers like that go.

Our options look limited this summer... Are Bernadeschi and Costa the best we wingers can hope for? SAD!
Even if we could afford Sanchez, I don't think he'd come anywhere near an Allegri-led project. Renewing with him was essentially an admission that right now we're in "maintain status quo" mode. Our target this season is to ensure we still have domestic dominance over our improved domestic competition.

This is sad because the improvements in the league will not be happening from teams that actually matter (Napoli/Roma) they are happening far below in the table, and it's no where near being a threat to us this season. We're going to look back at this glorious period of dominance and have no European silverware to show for it. SAD!

We are a top team on the pitch, but that has made us forget than financially we're not in the same league as the clubs we're trying to pip to a CL.

Tier 1 players are not possible for us, either because we lack the finances or the will to spend like that. Unless we sell of course.

Our only hope is to get some great young players, but there's not many out there and even they go for stupid prices now.

Basically if we stick to our current way of recruitment, our starting XI can't really go anywhere but down. Sad, but it's the reality unless we start offering the best players salaries that don't insult them, and likewise with transfer fees.
