We will always play with two wingers. So having four in the squad is not overkill. Motta wants a competitive squad and having a clear first choice for any position would go against that idea. So I don't think it's unrealistic to imagine him wanting Yildiz and Chiesa to compete for the left wing and Soule and Sancho compete for the right wing. If we can get rid of Milik as well, I could even imagine Yildiz compete with Vlahovic for the striker role.

he's a better fit tactically. a wide player that is comfortbale cutting in and taking on a player than kostic a wide player who likes to stay wide.


even without swap i wouldn't mind this transfer as a back up player for wings. you need 4 wingers because season is long and he is good enough to play in those 10-15 games you need to rest players in as starter and rest as impact sub.

he's also italian so helps with minimum italian requriements for league and cl.

Well he didnt get on with Guardiola this season, branding man city as "ungrateful". Thats now the fourth club where he leaves frustated, Valencia, Juve. Bayern and Man City.
