Let’s not celebrate the kostic deal too much

Arthur also went on loan last year and nothing happened.

Fiorentina will never buy a 33 year old player next season for 8 million
Tuz Financial Squad in May of 2025: Not what we expected but good riddance anyway.

His workrate has been questioned in the past, Motta likes all his players to press. I've not seen him enough, but what's his off the ball pressing like?

He is OK, not bad or standout in pressing or high energy. Plays in his own chill pace.

But Conceicao and Gonzalez are both absolutely mad men energy wise, they play on high octane tempo at all times. Have no chill lol Pretty sure that's part of the appeal for why they were targeted.

I really hope we are not bringing Sancho at the expense of a back up striker.

I'd be happy not to bring Sancho at all tbh, doesn't strike me as the sort of player that Motta would appreciate.

Sancho would contribute alot more quality then pretty much any backup striker we could possibly get in final week of the window.

If it's between Sancho and some backup striker at the same cost, you take Sancho every single time.

We could go from having no wingers to having Gonzalez, Conceicao, and potentially Sancho in the course of a week.

Crazy.

Who would Motta be able to.put out there as a false 9 in the event that Milik does what he does, which is to get injured again

Yep.

The boost in quality in wings would be crazy really. I rather live with occasional Milik appearances if wing play becomes that high level.

In what sense? If Vlahovic is unavailable and tbh I don't trust Milik to be ready when called upon more often than most is Sancho or any other players we have currently (including Koop) going to fill that void upfront? Maybe I'm a but old school and was never an advocate of these false 9 systems

Milik had 8 or 9 goals as backup striker with limited playing time last season. Came in end of games and scored some needed last minute goals sometimes.

I want someone better but he was OK backup.

Backup striker shouldn't be a priority in a big upheaval transfer market. It's just a backup. While Sancho could be a key starting left winger if we get him.

If we can find an opportunity to move on Milik and find someone else yes do it. But it shouldn't be as urgent as a boost in quality LW. And Milik would be main backup, but even if I'm not fond of False 9s lack of presence in box, Yildiz and Nico G are capable to do that role in the minutes Kean used to get. And Mottas system thrives on false 9 role as we seen in Bologna so it's approach that's uniquely fit for it.

I am an advocate of talent, and in your scenario, with cost being equal, I would find it very hard to believe that whatever backup striker they get would have even 50% of the skill that Sancho has.

You can never have too much talent on your squad.

Motta can figure that out.

If he gets sancho for 3m loan while paying only half or less wages I will praise guintoli for this deal . That’s just a good low risk deal all around with big potential reward
