let's get back to the 35m agreed before euros, they can buy hans for whatever we're asking for and we'll be fine
I think the complication is that Arsenal, like most clubs (even in the EPL), they want to spread payments but Bologna has to pay Basel their half.

I think suddenly Bologna is seeing the value of getting cash plus a player to get the cash portion of the transfer lower and not having to send as much transfer fee to Basel.

35m plus somebody like Miretti valued at 18m is worth more to Bologna than 50m from Arsenal.

I don't know why Bologna isn't open to a transfer that looks like that. It's 25m cash in their pocket versus 17.5m cash in their pocket and an 18m asset.

that's a swap deal that wouldn't benefit anyone (bar basel). it's unnecessarily complicated

my suggestion would be a bit different. buy 2 players from bologna:
- calafiori for 20m, 10m goes to basel
- holm for 25m, bologna keeps the money over the ~10m holm is actually worth

and holm is a fine player, i'd take him as a squad player any day

I think these are the types of deals, while they should be fine, we've been recently punished for and I think the circumvention reasoning on these deals would be clear as day to those in charge who won't allow Juventus to do anything outside transfermarkt evaluations.

Also, I think we want to add a player on our side to lower the overall cash fee because we are spending a lot of money in other places (or plan to) so that is why it is necessarily (sadly) complicated. And I think that was part of Bologna's initial hesitancy on the deal. They just wanted straight cash. But lookat Zirkzee. Even his deal is like three payments from fucking Man U.

We should say €35M was yesterday's offer. It's €25M today.

:giu:
from what I read Juve never even made an offer for Calafiori.

heres what di natale said

“The deal with #Calafiori? It’s true there was an agreement but Juventus NEVER made an offer to Bologna for Calafiori. Juventus would’ve like to have done so for €20-25m but not for €50m, Bologna were annoyed with this valuation, so they looked elsewhere” (@_Morik92_ via @ItaFootPod )

I think Juves valuation is closer to reality. No way a guy with one good season should be worth anywhere near 50M unless he’s a teenager or some wunderkind

I think we kinda should.

Nobody in our squad can play the Calafiori role in Motta's system.

Shit, there might not be more than a handful of CBs who can play that role in all of Europe.
Motta knows him better than anyone. If he was so important to his system and it was possible to purchase him then he would make it happen.

You forget one main factor. When it comes to Koopmeiners there's no competition.

We're not capable of signing big guns unfortunately. I doubt we're in a position to attract and buy one of the most promising young players.
I think this is a great point.

I think it's telling that NO big clubs are linked with Koopmeiners. We are in a bidding war with ourselves against a club that REGULARLY fucks other teams on player evaluations and we're just allowing ourselves to get bid up.

because Koop is waiting on Juve. Liverpool called him and he said no to them, and they’re managed by his former manager

point is there’s no point in calling a guy that’s set on one club. Another example: Khephren
Right, I get that but you still hear about clubs trying. One Liverpool rumor could just be agent or Atalata fog put out to push Juventus to accept the price hike. How come this transfer is almost completely quiet except for a very one-sided push to Juventus? Even if the player only wants Juventus, you'd hear other clubs TRYING and being told that. So far we've heard one rumor about Liverpool. At least that I know of.

Maybe there are more.

To me, this means we have time then. Put in the offer for Williams, if he doesn't accept then we move on.

If he does, then we all can tuttosport together, but back to back so it isn't gay.
