We all want new midfielders and we'd kill for it, so perhaps that's why we're overly excited about some of the mids rumored to join us, but I will stay calm for now.
Douglas Luiz doesn't start for Brazil, because some guys named Bruno Guimaraes and Joao Gomes are starting ahead of him. That Thuram guy didn't even make the French squad for the EUROs, where Rabiot is a sure starter. Koopmeiners is a 26 years old player who played for Jong AZ, AZ Alkmaar and Atalanta.

You make a valid point overall, but i don’t think we can expect anyone better to improve our midfield atm, heck until a few weeks ago we were being linked with even more mediocre names, so potentially getting just Douglas Luiz and K.Thuram in the same summer is quite a major hit for us, two players more or less in their prime and with plenty of ambition to prove themselves at the highest level compared to the washed up rejects and overpaid mercenaries we got accustomed to, also marketing and financially wise both are very good business by us, i think it’s to be expected that many are excited about it.

With Inter as they are now and Conte in Napoli, the best we can hope for is that 3rd place. Even that would be major success considering the changes we're making this summer from coach, tactics, gameplan, players etc.

I think crapoli's mercato is at a stand still because they don't want to sell the players who want to leave and nobody wants to buy Osimhen for the price they want. That said crapoli will do well to finish top 6 at this rate.
