This forum has been absolutely appalling recently to read exactly for that. Apparently it's too much to ask for people to just genuinely share their thoughts and react to ongoing events honestly.

They have to act like spineless politicians who have to twist and turn every sentence they say just to appear rosy. Dishonest discussions is the norm lately and it makes for an awful forum.

Posters more occupied with winning childish cheap pts and taking sides over normal discussions . Cronios used to be mocked for such type of approach and thinking but now half the forum are worse then him.

Ok if it just was clowns like dp84 or whatever, no sweat, but saddest $#@! of all is alot of these posters are fellas I used to look forward to reading any posts of. Now I just skip alltogether, read transfer news or focus on off topic threads, in a football forum...

Sorry for the rant.

No apology necessary.

I mean, I can be a shithead at times. I had quite a meltdown after the CL final as you well know. And I took a break from the forum, because I needed to cool off and take some time away.

But this disingenuous stuff is crazy. When you're so stubborn that you can't accept any criticism at all of the side your on, it gets quite ridiculous. And it creates a polemical situation where the other side starts retaliating by becoming more and more extreme in the opposite direction.

No one aside from Turk is lambasting Marotta's every move, calling him a thief, etc. We all recognize he makes some brilliant moves, and has done an excellent job over the last 4 years.. I defend him all the time, when people complain about him. I said wait until the end of the mercato. It's here. Criticism is now warranted and certain posters refusing to bend even the slightest knee in their defense of him makes this stark and ridiculous black and white situation. So you have posters trying to criticize one move by Marotta or a couple moves, or a single failure of his, and they are attacked as though they are attacking every single move he ever made, his entire history as Juve sporting director...

...and then we all get caught up in it, people revert to ad hominem and polemics and you have what we have here today. I'm not innocent in this. I get way to caught up in these arguments, because some of the blind and ridiculous rose-tinted comments infuriate me... but I do that for the opposite side too when I think it is warranted.

People need to understand that they don't have to pick a side and defend it to the death. It's about recognizing both successes and shortcomings and discussing them.

It's funny but I think the point of most of us complaining about this mercato is not that we're going to be an atrocious team... No. We'll probably be a pretty good team, with potential to be an excellent team.

However, we've had a piss-poor mercato due to turning an already great team into a team full of "ifs". If Dybala explodes into a massive star. If Morata can continue to improve and become world class. If Khedira can stay healthy and become the top player he was always supposed to become. If Cuadrado can regain his Fiorentina form. If Pereyra or Sturaro can become a top class mid. If if if if if.

For us to be the great team we were last season, we need a majority of these "ifs" to happen. We sold off guarantees and replaced them potential. And worst of all, we haven't addressed the most pressing need for this team. An attacking mid. It's been identified as a need for over a year, and we've failed to do anything about it.

We gave away Llorente. We sold Vidal because he asked to be sold, with two years left under contract, for a low price, and before we had a found a replacement for him as either CM or AM. We loaned one of our best young prospects or 2 years with an option to buy.

Now we have a weaker midfield, a weaker starting attack. Only along a back 4 are we stronger. And fancy that we might not even be able to play a back 4.

It's the random way we went about this mercato.

Am I saying we'll be terrible this year? Is Baggio? Is Cusp? Is CK? Is JCK? Are any of us? I don't think so. We're saying that our starting XI is significantly worse as things stand and it would take all those "ifs" mentioned above going our way for that to change. We might have an amazing season, win the CL, highly unlikely, but Dybala might turn into a world class strike a la Aguero. Morata might turn into Cavani (from his Napoli years), Sandro might be the best fullback in Serie A since Maldini, Pereyra might somehow explode into a lethal AM, Khedira may come back from this injury and go beast mode in the midfield.... These things could all happen. But they aren't fucking likely, and it looks right now like we're significantly worse, and haven't addressed our biggest need.

Time will tell.
Time will tell and for once I'm extremely nervous going into a season. You summarised it well, but what worries the most is not only losing decisive key experienced players in one swoop, but that we look softer and weaker in what ensured our dominance for 4 years and have us cojones in Europe last season, without barely attempting to address the issue. I'm referring to the ingenuity and flat out sheer fuck you you aren't gaining an inch quality to our central midfield (Tevez added big time to this too) . It was to die for and envy (and one of the core qualities of being Juve) , our way to compensate for lacking the abundance of technique and creativity most other big clubs have now in AMs.

We tried to remedy that by getting much needed AM ourselves, even if great, I much will miss what Vidal brought whole alot more. But even then, we couldn't get the job done, and have to wait around for deadline day for a hail Mary solution, like I'm a desperate Milan fan praying at the altar of IL Condor.

I'd rep this, but must spread first.

I feel the same. I feel like we've torn apart the heart of an incredibly dominant team, and replaced them with question marks...

Ahh. Time for Roma. This season is going to be a wild ride.

Letting him sit in the stand and run down his contract so he leaves for free? I think I'd rather take the €37m...
I was going to add that I wouldn't like the club to go that far :D

For me the 37M for Vidal and 28 for Comanche are okay. What pisses me off is not securing proper replacements before selling them.

Ok so we are now 0w 0d 2L
You can say dont panic but the way we are playing we actually should panic!
Ibra and a strong midfielder should be what we need to do now as there is no time to play games and we need some great quality asap!
