For once, only once beat City to a signing.
we already have, he was called krasic

Siqueira is not related to penny pinching, it's very likely to be related to Asamoah news.
basing our next move in the market on sheer hope that a player who has been injured for several months to just suddenly recover is a terrible idea

He has never said that Gotze or Draxler were our objectives for the summer and as far as I recall media started to make connection with Gotze since we were about to sell Vidal to Bayern. If he mentions certain player and in vast majority of cases it is after journalists start to push that question around, that doesnt neccessarily mean we have indentifed that player as our priority for the summer. Now expectedly, after months of supposed chase for the player and media fueling the expectations ( there is basically nothing to write about during the summer, sports journalism is reduced to transfer gossips by self proclaimed transfer gurus) fans will feel cheated. Another summer where we didnt bag WC signing. Kinda sounds familiar.
Thats a fallacy again. Just because it is assumed he has never said of his own will that these are players we are interested in, doesn't mean that we are not. The proof is in the pudding. We ARE interested in Draxler and that's the reason why we made an official bid for the player. It being shot down is secondary. We won't go and agree terms and make a bid for a player we aren't interested in. You could argue he's not a primary target if you like, but if you say we aren't interested then that's just a defensive stance to protect Marotta if he fails to make the signing. Another summer where we didn't bag a WC signing, should ideally not sound familiar, in a season where we lost two massive players and one dressing room stalwart. I don't think the management has any excuses if they can't get an AM this season. Although im pretty sure it wouldn't pan out at that level of incompetence.

I don't think either Inter or Milan stand a chance. They've both had awful seasons and the players they bought are decent, but nowhere near the quality we have. Roma is different, but I'm confident they will demonstrate erratic form as they do nearly every year. I'm also not sure what they're going to do with Totti now that they have Dzeko. Bench? Midfield? Supporting striker?

We have a chance of winning the CL next season.
The real difference is in defense. Apart from that we don't know whether we have a better attack and midfield. Same with Roma.

We may very well be interested in certain player, but there are too many varibles involved in every deal and if we decided not to spend 30m on unproven youngster, this has very little to do with incompetence. Prudence might be more fitting. We ARE NOT going to spend more than 60m on two unproven youngsters whithin a couple of months. Every company is looking to mitigate risks related to its business. We took a pretty big gamble on one and this could set us back if it doesnt pan out the way we are expecting.

Failed to bag WC signing sounds awfully familiar, since the term has been overused during the years. Yet we have won impressive amounts of silverware and it doesnt look like we will be stopping anytime soon.

As I said few pages back I could not care less who we bring as long as we meet set objectives and quite frankly I dont understand why people like JCK have been losing their mind each and every summer.

Yes, of course, there are variables, but every year, that is what we are trying to reduce for ourselves. The very variables linked to quality signings. Think about it, in a CL final year, winning the double, new shirt sponsor, higher turnover than last year, biggest sale in the current managements tenure, we are discussing how we can't sign two unproven talents, both of whom have been identified by us. Nobody has forced them down our throat. And then we sit and contemplate how injury prone they might be and work out varied methods to sign them. Do you think we got Dybala on our terms for instance? Coz I don't. Do you know why? Because we realised this was a signing we had to make, and we did. Likewise, the AM is a priority and if the coach has asked for it explicitly then the management are obligated to provide him that, especially after sacrificing a WORLD CLASS talent. There are no two ways about it.

Again, it is unfortunate, that every year we gloat about the silverware we have won and congratulate the management, but forget the variables that actually made those possible. Keep in mind, that there was a coach at the start of that winning cycle who had a huge part to play to instill, create and deliver what he did. The team grew at a certain pace because of those successes. Now, we start again, but this time our expectations are realistically deserving of a higher starting point than where we are pegging ourselves at this point in time.

If you can't sign a top player after those impressive amounts of silverware, and a CL final, and a huge sale, then your prospects are hardly ever going to get better. If it doesn't happen now, it probably never will. And that's not just because it's finances and limitations, but also, mindset, approach and ability to function at that level. I want to give the management the benefit of the doubt because there's a substantial amount of time left for ONE marquee signing, but it's worrying when we aren't clear about what we really want.

How much would Cuadrado cost? I'd take him and go 4-3-3, with Dybala with a free role on the left.
Dunno why, I'm seeing Cuadrado propagate the 352 for Allegri more than a 433.
