Ramires is similar to Allan in terms of style and what they bring on the pitch, those who say hes got no technic havent watched the player, with the exception that his older and at his peak ( perhaps he has declined a bit recently but could regain his form with a change of scenery).

I'm not sure if we would offer 4+ year contract to another 28yo midfielder, I reckon thats what it takes for him to leave chelsea. Or maybe we will.

Anyway, Cuadrado + Ramires sounds tempting, not much of a progress in quality but atleast squad is kept stacked as fark, especially considering the great work of training and medic team.
Well said

Thing is we dont need a cm. I really dont understand why we need one.

We have marchisio, pogba, khedira, sturaro, pereyra, asamoah, padoin. We have 7 players for 3 positions. While both khedira and asamoah are out right now, that still leaves us with 5 players for 3 positions.

We need a trequartista, we dont need a cm. And we certainly dont need a $#@! player like cuadrado.
its not like they are out for the season
Asa and Khedira are injured so you're left with Padoin on the bench. One injury away from crisis in midfield.

Most probably not, but it's not a stretch to say that there might be ongoing or intermittent injury problems with those two. I suspect Khedira's is one of those unfortunate pre-season injuries that sometimes happen, with Asamoah we don't really know so far. Often very muscular players are the biggest risk.

out of these 7, only marchisio and pogba can actually defend and contribute to attacks at the same time. during the last couple of seasons, we played with 3-4 quality cm's. allegri's choice of switching to 2 central defenders instead of 3, thus making place for a 4th midfielder made us stronger last year.

i think we need a cm. our current midfield has no similar depth than we had the last 4 seasons.

I understand but this team is lacking creativity and now Marotta has changed the focus from trequartista to cm. So if things turn out that way we could see us with 8 cms when healthy and no real trequartista

What do you mean by that? Pereyra and Sturaro can't attack and defend?

Ramires is a Khedira level player.

Guarin is worse than both.

I think you people are reading too much of EPL fan comments.

He isn't as bad as he's made out to be.

Ramires + Tq would be ideal but I'm not sure we'd get both.

Anyway I don't think there's any truth in these rumours.
That would be quite good tbh. Ramirez is a bit like a slightly less talented version of vidal, without the offensive game he used to have

Not remotely on the same level as Pogba, Marchisio and vidal

sturaro can actually defend, i love his workrate, but let's be honest, he's not a great passer. (yeah, i've seen his assist at the supercoppa.) i hope he proves me wrong.

to me it's obvious that pereyra isn't a great defensive player. he might be useful as a camoranesi reincarnation if we played 4-4-2, or 4-2-3-1. allegri mostly used him as an impact sub, but just like sturaro, he's not a marchisio, pogba level complete player either.

as our mercato stands now, i think we're strong in attack, dybala and mandzu are great additions. also, rugani is already way better than ogbonna. if we get siqueira (a decent squad player), than our defense will be stronger than last year. but our midfield desperately lacks depth. i never rated khedira, and poor asamoah (one of my favorite players of the current squad) is being stuck in this injury too long, so yes, we'd need a cm. let the team prove me wrong.

But I want a trequartista

'Juventus in pole for Donsah’
By Football Italia staff

Godfred Donsah’s agent reveals 'Juventus are definitely in pole’ for the Cagliari man, but Fiorentina and Bologna are also interested.

The 19-year-old made 20 Serie A appearances for the Isolani last term, though the Sardinians were relegated at the end of the season.

“The player has a lot of admirers,” Oliver Arthur told FirenzeViola.

“We’re talking about a renewal with Cagliari, but our intention is to leave Sardinia. There are three or four teams interested in Italy.

“Juventus are definitely in pole, as we’ve had contact with them for months. Then there’s [Pantaleo] Corvino’s Bologna, and also Fiorentina with whom we’ve been in contact for a few weeks through an intermediary.

“Fiorentina is definitely an option, but, I repeat, not the only one.

“Now let’s see what will happen with Cagliari, we’ll try and find the best solution over the next 20 days.”
