we havent sold Vidal to replace him with a mediocre player though. Vidal leaving was due to him wanting to play for Bayern, and we absolutely cant replace him with that calibre of player since no one that good is available. the only options we have are young uprising stars like Vidal was prior to his move here and more experienced players that arent exactly on that level. we'll see who and if we get someone, but no one should be expecting top players
But that is the other problem we aren't even replacing Vidal with someone who is young and upcoming, instead we are linked with the likes of guarin who are already at their peak and are still mediocre, what is worse is that the management seem incapable of meeting the requirements of this team this summer. We need an AM yet marotta is happy to fill the squad of midfielder of no particular quality - those were his words! and I find that something very difficult to comprehend considering the economic leap from last season, as well as the freed up funds from the big wages both Pirlo and Tevez had - It just doesn't add up! Sure people will try and sell me the story of how we should have faith in the board following 4 years of success but that just doesn't stick with what I'm seeing right now. Time and time again I have said we should always build on our success but frankly speaking I don't feel that we have this season. The worst part is that due to the needs of this team not being met I feel players like mandzukic in particular will struggle the sort of player that thrives off service and creativity around. We don't have that! as much as people like to believe pereyra and dybala are the answer they are not! Dybala is a support striker, not a trequartista

we're not getting $hit! guys!!! This is it.... for all of you expecting a quality team changing player to come in before the end of this transfer window you will be sorely disappointing. We got to the CL Final last year so now the excuse is there to cut spending and pocket some nice cash, winning is secondary in sports these days for most teams, especially in Italy. Don't you see? All Italian teams have become feeders for big spenders like Bayern, Barca, Real, Chelsea, PSG and Man City.... Much like Altetico Madrid is in Spain. We will probably struggle mightily in Europe this year and end up in Europa League while once again winning the scudetto, not by 17 pts but we will still probably have enough to hold off Roma, Lazio, Napoli and the two Milan teams who will be improved.

For me this is a failed summer, All that matters to me is that we win the Champions League but obviously that is not the same thing management cares about as clearly seen by how they so easily sold off Vidal and Tevez while penny pinching to try to get players like Draxler.

its yet to be seen if and who we will purchase. the management arent magicians, they cant purchase players that are not for sale. of the ones that are available, there are few that would fit the profile of player we are looking at. of the few that would fit the profile of player we are looking at, there is no one you could sign without heavily overpaying, which we wont do in this case.

the lack of creativity argument is being thrown around to much here. Marchisio-Pogba-Khedira/Asa with Dybala/Pereyra-Morata/Dybala-Morata/Mandzukic is a well balanced team that has good creativity sources in Pogba, Marchisio, Dybala, Pereyra and even Morata. our strikers will surely have enough service, and we wont struggle scoring goals in most games.

Honestly this Gotze saga is getting interesting again as Guardiola has told Gotze he will not get a lot if playing time and Mario is annoyed as he wants to stay on the national team
This is what I find odd about it all: Götze featured pretty regularly last season. And IMO he has played rather well at times. He's also shown he can be pretty effective as a sub. Why is Guardiola so eager to dispose of a young, German talent that has won the WC final?

pep in the pk before playing the audi cup:

16.41 Uhr: Nun ist Mario Götze Thema, der aktuell nicht über die Jokerrolle hinauskommt. Guardiola sagt: "Er ist ein super Typ und super Profi." Aber er schränkt ein: "Die Spieler müssen mich auf dem Platz überzeugen." Offenbar ist das Götze bislang nicht gelungen.
saying "he (götze) is a nice guy and a real pro - but the players have to convince me on the pitch"

they simply had to field götze because half of the team was injured.
