Mancini will not let Guarin join us and neither i would want him to come here. We got an aging pair of fullbacks on both left and right , we got a couple of crocked CB, we got a couple of injury prone CM and one unproven youngster apart from one game in CL, and a system whereby the coach needs an AM, that's our current situation.

I personally think the CB situation is fine, we have Rugani and Caceres there, however the midfield needs to be address. Hoping on Pogba and Marchi to carry out a midfield 4 is too much even for them.

We shouldn't be going after Witsel, nor any other >average profile midfielder. Guarin on a loan with an option, not obligation is times better than Witsel.

If anything we better get a new DMC...

Get a great AM and LB and we are done! Injuries can kill even the best team, you can't be 100% insured. Also, if we can swap Licht for a RB with brains - do it! FFS he is supposed to be giving an example to the youth, if Storaro is getting this lessons I fully expect him to KO a referee this season.

Come to think of it, Cuadrado wouldn't be such a bad signing as I first thought.Can play a variety of roles.
We could also use him as our version of Di Maria in the midfield three.It's quite clear we'd play more on the counter this yr anyway.
But we'd need an AM along with his signing too.

You can't make any winger into a world class CM the way De maria was. Di maria is the exception not the rule.

Why does people keep repeating that we need a new LB, and not a RB?

Evra is playing 4 times better than Lichtsteiner who is regressing like hell. In my view we need to look for a Licht replacement, a young LB and then to figure out the CM/AM situation, and how Dybala/Coman and Pereyra will fit into our plans.

Marchiso, Khedira, Staruro, Padoin and to some extent Pogba are all DMs. We need 1 creative CM and one CAM.

If marchisio goes back to his old levels we would have only one good player in Pogba surrounded by injured or mediocre players.

To be honest none of them are the DM's we need. Most can't pull precise long passes,help dictate play and have good positioning. Marchisio can and is the one playing there, he is extremely mobile too.

I don't think we need a De Jong type destroyer, behind either of Kherida/Storaro and Pogba. And all 3 are CM's, just like Witsel will be and just like Pereyra can be.

PS: Also Marchisio can be a good/fantastic CM depending on form. So, actually we have 5 players that can play CM and 0 natural DM's.
