Right.. Marotta's hands were tied there
If one of my employees says they were offered another job that can pay more than my company can for the same fucking role, I ask them once: Are you sure you want to leave. When they reply, "yes" I say OK and go look for a replacement.

It's.A.Fucking.Business.

I'd say this isn't rocket science but by the going trend here I'd think some of you would actually understand rocket science more easily than this.

I dont get it. If Schalke allowed Juve to talk to Draxler, this would mean that both clubs must have had an agreement in principle over the transfer fee.

Now suddenly everything is over.

To me that it a signal to Juventus -- Significantly up your offer or we're not going to even bother with you.
Meet their 30 million Euro ask...considering where other players go for, it isn't absurd - although it would have been much more preferable if we had actually gotten fair value for Vidal. His price was way too low.

Then I'm sorry to say it, but your company is in bad shape.

If you allow a vital employee to leave before training someone or developing the right replacement, you're doing it wrong.

Look, it's a 3 party business. If Vidal wants to leave, make him pay the fucking clause and he's free to go. If there's no clause and you have to agree with it, if you don't agree he doesn't leave, because you know, he signed a contract.

General rule of football business. You sell if you are OK with the fee to be received. This is leverage.

Exception cases: you sell even for a lesser fee, in special circunstances where you have less leverage. Ex: Tevez.

Vidal, for all I know, is not an exception, is a common case. You just let the fucker leave IF you do your job and find a suitable replacement FIRST and you agree with the fee. Doesn't look like it's the case here.

It's called a two week notice. Once the person says they are leaving, they should give you a notice to sort things out. Anyways, Marotta already has that covered thanks to those already signed for our midfield.

But if that employee has signed a contract where he has promised to stay there for two years then things get a bit more complicated.

Yeah. Let's forget that Vidal had already been replaced long before the news even broke of his departure. Marotta knows what he is doing. The last 4 years are sufficient proof of that.

Then maybe that player that promised to stay suddenly does an about face should be the one held accountable?

Now I don't get why didn't we buy an AM first, then sell Vidal.
Because Vidal isn't an AM.

Not sufficient enough, apparently.
