Because in the first season under Ancelotti they played 4-3-3 and last year they got James Rodriguez who would bench / move out of position 90% of AMs out there.

Real dont play with central AM? Only wingers or playmaking CMs. It's still his natural position where he is at his element.

i meant when they 1st got him in his 1st season there. they still played 4-2-3-1, they sold Ozil to fit him in, he was supposed to succeed Mesut, so what went wrong? if he was that amazing at AM, surely they wouldnt put in a 3rd CM instead of him

He played Am/roaming Lw for fist two months and scored alot then they got back their regular players from injury and switched to typical 4-3-3.

Good player, but way overrated here. Flair and fancy, lousy end product in a league where +100 goals scored seems like a standard for the big two. But let's fap to his fancy moves that are most of the time ineffective

4-3-3 was the main formation. LW, which isn't his natural position to begin with is Cristianos, and the main CM playmaker is Modric. Two players that are the best there is at their job, who will play ahead of them?

all im saying is Isco isnt as good as you guys like to hype him, especially not so much better, if at all, than guys like Oscar and especially Gotze. would i be against him at Juve? no. would i take him over Gotze? no. would i take him over Oscar? close call but id still take Oscar. does that mean Isco is average or mediocre? no. fact is, he got dropped by Ancelotti to play without an AM. if he was that great like you guys say, he would keep a formation that includes an AM. and he wasnt great in those first 2 months he played AM. he was very meh, i remember it very well. now that he plays LCM/LM, he plays much better

Isco plays for Real ffs, the most expensively assembled team in the history of football, are you really holding it against Isco that he isn't able to hold a starting spot ahead of the likes of Modric and James? The guy is supremely talented, anyone who watched him play for Real this season would tell you that.

i was obviously talking about his 1st season when James was still in Monaco. and Modric wasnt really a problem for Ozil was he i know he is talented but also overhyped here
