We aren't even linked to him anymore, are we? ::hustini2::
nope :sigh:.

but i said he is the only likely, what i actually meant he is the most likely among those mentioned. he seems very unlikely at the moment...

I'd rather spend 50 mil on Isco than 40 mil on Dybala. That's just my opinion though.
yeah, but how likely is it that we spend 40M on Dybala? i doubt we would go over 30M, and i think we shouldnt go over 20M + players, 25M as the last resort if Zampa rejects the players we offer. i also doubt Isco would go for 50M

Barca and Bayern vie for Darmian
By Football Italia staff

Torino's Matteo Darmian may be the object of contention for European giants Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Italian club hopes to sign the Granata winger took another blow as the level of the competition, according to Tuttosport, has risen again.

After reports of a 'Clasico' derby between Real Madrid and Barcelona to capture the Italy international, now the duel appears to be between the Blaugrana and the German colossus.

According to the publication, Barcelona's sporting director Ariedo Braida will be scouting Darmian in tomorrow's derby against Juventus, but Pep Guardiola's club is reportedly in pole position.

At some point we're going to have to break our spending model if we want to start keeping the top Italian players in Italy... With increased sponsorship deals this summer, massive increase in CL funds, a better TV deal, and the limited spending we've done in the past 2 mercatos, this really is the summer for us to spend 75-100 mil (we should be able to make sales worth 25 mil).

We already let Verratti escape. Amongst others. Darmian should be a priority. As should at least one top attacker/CAM. We should be buying a 40 mil rated attacker this summer.

I mean, we're always going to get outmuscled for those Galactico type signings, but we should be very competitive for Alexis Sanchez type signings. Eventually we need to be. We won't always get lucky with cheap signings.

We don't need to break the model, we need to steadily up the ceiling. Meaning 75-100 mil is out of the question...

And it's not about "getting lucky" with cheap signings. It's about scouting and evaluating them very refined.

You can always say we'd let player X or Y go. That even counts for the biggest teams in the world. But the summer we didn't opt for Verratti at a then relatively high cost, we got Pogba for nothing.

Darmian, Dybala, Kurzawa/Digne, Rugani, Neto, Zaza

that would be my ideal mercato

we would have 6 fullbacks. considering we are limited to 25 players that's not possible
Licht, Evra and Asamoah who is a risk with 4 man defense.
Who are they other three? I hope you are not mean De Ceglie and Pepe.

We need one back, prefer Darmian who can play on boths sides and he is Italian.

This is pretty much my dream mercato, but it would cost us 70-90m. I don't think we will spend that much. And even if we will, after Marotta's last interview, I think we will also go for some more experienced players, maybe RVP or Falcao.

I would also like us to get Berardi.

Agreed. Top Italian players should all be aiming to make the Juve lineup. It's always been clear we prefer Italians if we can so players like Darmian one would think would run here if he could.

Darmien Dybala would be great for us but Id also like to see one young signing for cheap Plus Rugani. Maybe bring in Zaza and wish LLorente the best on his way out. The big thing is we need very sustainable success and the best way to do that is to ensure stability for next years team while getting good players for the future and some young risks. You have to remember Peryra is 15 mil and Zaza could be another 15 if we choose him. I dont see us getting Darmien and Dybala on top of that

I would very much like Zaza instead of Llorente, but not sure if we would just try to dump him to whom ever, or freeze him out. Considering what he were through to come here in the first place. If he doesn't like his future destination, he could very well decline to leave...

I would still get Alex sandro over Darmian. Alex is just more proven on higher level. We should run Porto ragged, get Jackson, Alex sandro. and then prepare a bid for a good AMC from abroad

Real just paid €31.5m for Danilo so there's no chance that Beppe would be willing to dig out so much for a full-back. With Darmian at least he has some room to finesse a couple players in the deal.

If you want to Raid key players from Porto you need to spend ridiculous money unfortunately

They're in a unique position. They can always compete domestically, and they accept they can't realistically be regular CL heavyweights. So they're at the peak of their own personal ambition most years and have no need for money to boot. So if you want to do business with Porto you pay up or go home.
