Juventus' pursuit of Atletico Madrid fullback Guilherme Siqueira has collapsed.

Gazzetta dello Sport says negotiations between Juventus and Atlético for the loan of Siqueira have broken down.

Juve director general Giuseppe Marotta has changed his strategy and told manager Massimiliano Allegri to use Simone Padoin while Kwadwoh Asamoah recovers from injury to cover the left back position.

The cash that had been earmarked for Siqueira will instead be used to sign a midfielder.

This indirectly implies Alex Sandro won't come as well. I read some rumours about Siqueira yesterday and it seems that good news about Asamoah made us drop our interest in Siqueira, not Sandro's renewal problems. Allegri is willing to use Padoin as Evra's backup until Asa comes back just to get an AM.

IMO it was Allegri who pushed for change of priorites, he wants the AM at all costs. Not getting Siqueira leaves us with more money in the bag and AM is priority now. It seems we're on a tight budget or management don't want to spend too much. We have to get a starting 11 quality AM though.

That would make @Lion happy.

At this point, if its a short contract and nothing crazy for transfer fee wouldnt mind to have him.
Buy some time to see what opportunities future mercato bring.
