You can laugh all you want, but Matri has built an incredible career. He played for Juventus, Milan and Fiorentina, even scoring 29 goals total for Juventus without any talent whatsoever. I mean this guy got to the best of the best without the benefit of having any actual talent. That's pretty damn impressive.

It definitely is. The guy is somewhat similar to Inzaghi in this point. His will let him get where he got.

Actually Inzaghi is one of the less skilled players I've seen succeed at the highest level. Sheer will. I didn't like his play not even when he played for Juve, he has always been very limited.

Intelligence takes you a long way in football.

Thomas Mueller is probably the current high-level player who best demonstrates that just now.

Obviously there is no shortage of player who go the other way and have all the technical ability and no intelligence.

Definitely, expressed myself poorly in there.

Postioning and moving is absolutely fundamental in football and if you've played once you can tell that your brain is constangly working while moving around.

It makes an astounding difference, absolutey.

Inzaghi's positioning and "instinct" (actually intelligence and antecipation) was off the charts.

Matri must have some of that to some account.
