Yes. We play with 3 midfielders, 4 if you count the trequartista, so 8 competing for 4 positions seems logical.

If we are going to pay for a midfielder, we should pay the pretty penny for Kondogbia. If not then it will be as you say, but if Allegri is gonna insist on the trequartista, I'd rather see Kondogbia relieving Pogs from his defensive duties and unleashing the beast with all his flair and fancies

I'm not sure why people insist on Pogba as a trequartista, Vidal is used as one given his willingness to track back all the way, his goal scoring capability as well as his athleticism. Pogba has flair and has a nice strike of the ball but Vidal is used there becUse with pirlo as a regista, we lack some in defense.

Anyway back to whT i said, there is no way we will spend 35m on a cm. go for a young italian instead as a back up or forreal just get allan

Pogba on many occasions has shown he has great vision, he has an amazing first touch, great off ball movement and he is extremely intelligent, he has all the tools to be a great offensive threat as a trequartista, Vidal offers very little to nothing offensively, he's providing extra cover as you said. But with Kondogbia and Vidal in front of Marchiso and behind Pogba, tell me how that wouldn't add more steel and creativity to our squad.

Pogba behind Tevez/Dybala-Morata would be quite potent imo

In my opinion a midfield of kondogbia-marchisio-vidal and trequartista pogba would be horrible. I feel like there is little creativity within those players and it will push the majority of the chances created on top of Tevez and Morata. Pereyra or a true am would have to be thrown into their or it would be just a domination in midfield with little end product.

Not saying it couldnt work but I find that if a team were to just close shop and park the bus, we would have an extremely difficult time breaking them down
