Marchisio is hands down a better player. Replace him with Witsel and our midfield collapses. Despite beeing 3 years older and in a financially poor league, he's valuated nearly the same as Witsel aswel. Says enough.

They are so different that you can't compare them. When is the last time you saw Marchisio score a header?

De Bruyne is incredibly overrated by Belgians. He's a talented player, but he wouldn't fit here.

It doesn't really matter if they're different types of players, they're both centre midfielders and you can compare their quality. Marchisio is more complete.

De Bruyne has arguably been the best CAM in Europe this season. Why wouldn't he fit here?
