we could have atleast got 5 mil for Llorente and 1mil for isla. 6 in total + them extraordinary director esque wages were looking at like 30 mil. I don't and can't understand our player valuations. Everyone we got rid of this season alone have gone for cheap.

maybe he gave Llorente away free to make it quick and to free up wages for our superstar AM/trequartista to be announced soon!
he gave him for free for one simple reason - he was unable to sell and it was gonna be an international shame to loan zaza the same window he arrived. for 18 ml.

Or maybe its because we have zaza, morata, dybala, mandzukic, and coman all for 2 spots
They are letting Llorente walk because the guy wants to return to Spain, because we have five other men that can play his position and because he's owed 20M Euro over the next few years. All valid reasons for letting the man go for the same price we acquired him at.

Do you mean that by doing the most scrupulous thing towards Llorente, we are showing to other players that we will respect them and treat them right? But, but money is more important than class for so many people.

Llorente is on 4.5 mil wages. We got him for free and he actually waited for us back then. He also gave 16 goals in 34 games on his first season

2 years remaining, the gross cost would be around 18-20mil in wages, for a player who'd barely get playing time since we got morata and mandzukic, and got a much cheaper zaza.

Suddenly this week, Sevilla pops back up. Well, then probably we couldnt sell him, so we decided a mutual termination so he can go for free.

Is a nice gesture towards the player. Like it was when we allowed Tevez to go back, and Vidal when he wanted to go to a big team that can win the CL.

Football is like business now, why should we do these "nice gestures"?

Maybe we shouldn't have bought Zaza for 18m and we wouldn't have too many strikers. What ever way you look at this it is crazy not to get any money for Llorente who still interests top teams and to sign players that aren't needed.

If you ask me then morata deserves the same when the time is right. Classy guy we should honour his wishes. Assuming here llorente had wishes.

Do you actually believe there is no Spanish or English club with 5m to spend?

How about 3m? Still none?

Yes, it's nice to the player, but you guys are deluded if you think no money could be milked from this.

Everyone knows Marotta can't sell as well as his competitors. He's good at other things, but don't try to paint over this - just accept it's an area where he can and should improve.

Its the same story all over

Remember how we had iaquinta and amauri on insane wages ? People were like YOU MUST SELL THEM OMFG BAD MAROTTA BAD. Yeah sure, they just flat out refused any offer because no one was going to pay them such ludicrously high secco wages.

Old players on high wages, are quite hard to sell if they arent performing anymore. He is only interested in staying or spain. If we offload to spain, people outrage that we dont get cash. If we keep him, people outrage on 4.5 mil wages on the bench.
