im really worried about our central midfield.

we never replaced pirlo, vidal, pogba. pjanic is great but we need more world class central midfield and good depth.

sorry to say but marchisio and khedira are not world class. they can be good bench players though

I think we've mitigated that by switching to a formation in which we need fewer CMs and the CMs have fewer duties.

Pjanic is awesome, I am for an upgrade on Khedira but I don't think its near as much a priority as some around here like to believe, at least not until more important situations have been sorted.

I'm no expert but this guy wouldn't be the best fit next ro regista Pjanic in a 4231 imo. I'm inclined to say you need a N'golo Kante type next to Pjanic, someone who does the running and makes those runs in the box. N'Zonzi always looks more like a destroyer or traditional DM than a Radja, Kante or Vidal who can make those runs in the box all game. Matuidi would make more sense imo.

we have Khedira for that btb role, Marchisio too. but right now we dont have a player like Nzonzi, who could have been the difference for us in the CL final. we need to have different types of mids for tactical reasons
