I dont think this is the same as the Vieira situation though. Gerrard is English playing for the most successful English club in history, plus he is the captain.

Trezeguet is valued at about 25 million....Gerrard would be at least another 5 to 10 million more.

Would Gerrard be the right player to get though? Would he play in the centre of midfield next to a player like Zanetti with Camo and nedved on the wings still?

I personally still believe a more creative player such as Ribery should be the first choice because we need that creative flare in midfield. Then again, maybe the club can go for both?

We'll end up with Dainelli, Almiron and Iaquinta. :p

Gerrard costs too much. DD said a Vieira type player so it's Sissoko.

I guess we'll get Klose and Trez will go.
almiron, dainelli, iaquinta, klose and sissoko would be great additions to the squad since it will be juve's first year back in serie a
but one quality player is missing(defence maybe?)

Gerrard does cost a whopping amount if we "could" lue him in.

but given Juve's situation where Buffon insist in building a star team, I'm not so convinced that we "won't" go for a BIG player. Sissoko is not one of them.

HE would be great, a dream. His creativity is more than many of you may think, he create's many chances and is a team leader.

DD sounds pretty serious regarding Juve's hopes of getting Gerrard. I have to expect that they will try very hard to get him. He also sounds like losing Buffon is simply not an option. You just don't replace a keeper of his quality.

His response regarding Trez sounded 50/50 to me though. It sounds like that if Trez isn't motivated (which is the case right now), that Juve is happy to look elsewhere for options. Klose or Toni sound like the primary objectives if they part ways with Trez.

Gerrard may not be creative in the way that a Ronaldinho or a Kaka is creative but the way he drives his team forward makes things happen. Main concern would be whether we would be getting the Liverpool Gerrard or the England Gerrard.

That said I would be amazed if he will ome because of the new owners. Liverpool will spend big in the summer to try and make a real premiership challenge, which Gerrard will want to be a part of.

Only chance of him coming is if juve insist on him when Liverpool come calling for Trezeguet.

So, let's hope Liverpool won't qualify for the next season's Champions League OR pray for Platini to decrease the number of teams qualify from each country to just three teams. :p

my only concern is that spending such a huge amount on him, and he could take a long time to settle in Italy. Gerrard does great in the CL, he is a champion player who has amazing qualities. But playing for juve, in italy which is slower etc...it could take him a while to get used to it. Vieira didn't take long at all, but he kind of faded midway through the season.

Others in the past who have joined italian clubs have also struggled. I suppose it is the same when spanish players play in italy, and italian midfielders or defenders joining english teams.

Liverpool has been rumoured to Trez, maybe he can be in that deal.

I'm all for getting Gerrard if it is possible, but i cant help but think that we could get a players like Ribery and Mavuba together for a cheaper price than Gerrard alone. To me that would make more sense.

We broke the world record to land John Charles from Leeds United. Let's do it again and secure the services of Liverpool's Stevie G :agree:

Ribery is being heavily persued by Arsenal. I fully expect them to get their man.

Liverpool is fond of Trez & I think a deal with them seems highly likely now. Just keep Crouch away please. We have no use for that guy at all.

Arsenal was smart and decided to invest in young starlets such as Rosicky, Hleb, and van Persie. For some reason our past management did not want to take a chance on such players and we are therefore left with older players. Rosicky was the obvious player to buy considering our Pavel was here but of course nothing will ever go the ideal path.
