We will be playing a formation that has 3 CMs in it...whether 352 or the 433.

Starters: Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo
Bench: Asamoah, Pogba, Marrone
Out: Padoin, Pazienze, Melo
Youth: Appelt, Buoy

We need depth. Losing Marrone now would be stupid. All 6 will play and do to Pogba being so young I can easily see Marrone geting more time than him.

Fucking just give Fiorentina 25m + Padoin/Pazienza.

And hypothetically speaking, losing out on Jovetic because of the unwillingness to include a 22 year old midfielder who has barely played is even dumber.

If there's anyone in the world like Zidane, Del Piero, and Baggio it is Jovetic.

He's a combination of class and skill. Something Suarez, Neymar, Ibra and other big names don't have.

How is it dumber when the purpose of adding players to the team for depth only to weaken that area of another player?

We have fringe players we need to get rid of...Marrone is not that. Give the kid an honest shot this season, if he sinks we let him go...but he impressed a lot last season and now with more competitions he will get more PT...he is already better than Padoin/Pazienza. Why weaken our strongest part of the team?

Besides, Fiorentina want 30m cash...as you said they can't build around a player like Matri or Pazienza and they could better use that 30m to inject some young blood/talents into the team...like another Jovetic, for example.

The fact that we are looking to include players, when they have said numerous times that they want cold hard cash, is pointless.

I don't think Marrone would do them much good. They're better off with Padoin or Pazienza. Players with experience. They were almost relegated this season, I don't think they're trying to build a young team for the future, they should be focusing on what's going to get them an EL spot or on the upper half of the table. A player like Marrone, at the age of 21-22 won't do that. They're better off getting a Padoin/Pazienza and a Matri who could score them 15 goals a season. Matri should be the focal point of their season, not Luca.

My only beef with this proposal is that for whatever reason I see a LOT of potentional in Marrone and think he will become a REALLY good player in a couple years, under the right circumstances of course.

Adding Jovetic and losing Marrone would help the team more, but if there was any way possible to keep him and off load the other dead weight we don't need then that is much better I would say.

This statement reminds me of how typical Serie A managers think ..

And what good would Padoin or Pazienza add ?Marrone has got talent something which Montella apparently values so highly.They're more likely to survive with a young team than a team full of scrubs..I honestly think some clubs are going the Udinese direction and rightly so.

Matri would be a great addition for them but a club like Fiorentina cannot always retain its best players and Matri being 28 already is likely to not having a good resale value and this is a significant investment we're talking about,i mean in this proposed player + cash deal ,they would be essentially paying 15m for Matri and chances of recouping that amount ,if they try to sell him is not very high.

Our trash, mind you, would/could improve a team like Fiorentina. Granted they need some talent to pull them back up, but Padoin/Pazienza would give them some sort of stability and consistency at least...maybe not take them up a level.

But for 25m-30m, they could certainly address some issues they have in their lineup.

No doubt Jovetic will be WC or damn close to it...in this team Europe will see him explode in the CL, guaranteed. Marrone, on a much smaller scale, will also starting raising eyebrows in this team.

Our trash wouldn't be Milan's treasure for example, but it would add something to a team like Fiorentina.

I thought Corvino is not anymore with them ?

We wont be completely giving away the player either and at Viola under a coach like Montella he would see a lot of playing time and it could work wonders for his development..heck we bought Gio back for 11m euros.(not that i want the board to make a similar sort of stupid move)

Personally though i'd like the kind of deals these German clubs do ,Bayern in particular..They sent Kroos to Bayer04 on a 2 year loan deal ,and in only 1 year he proved to become one of the best midfielders in the league which is when they bought him back..
