No because he is still at Olympics but its pretty close, Oscar is gonna leave and Ganso will take his spot, fought with his club alot with contract raise that its impossible for him to remain. Nor was it ever likely he would leave to Europe, been too injury prone and completely off form to interest any alluring bids (last was Porto in winter mercato with 8-10m).

25 Million in today's market is not huge. We paid 18 Million for Matri FFS. We bought Malaka for 14 Million!!! Overpaying for JoJo would be offering Fiorentina 40-45 Million in cash. 30 Million is a tad excessive, but not entirely unreasonable because of the quality he possesses.

25 Million is the right price. Oh, and JoJo's impact is worth countless Padoins.

I know man, I was just messing with you. :p

We definitely need to splash on Jojo or Cavani during THIS mercato, then on the next one we get Jojo or Higuain\Cavani depending on who we bought this summer.

On what basis Gilardino's more expensive than a younger Quag.
Fiorentina sold Gilardino for 8m eur in January 2012, when Gila was 29 years and 5 months old. Quag is right now 29 years and 7 months old. So, we can't really talk about a "younger Quag" in this case.

Gila was a regular starter and many times the leader and best player of his team. Player who scored more than Quag in 6 of the last 8 seasons. Player who scored 147 serie A goals and 18 goals in Europe (most in CL), compared to Quag's 60 serie A goals and 0 goals in CL. On top of this Quag recently suffered a bad injury and teams know that he's nothing more than a 5th choice striker in Juve, while Gila was a starter.
So back to my previous point: If Gila was worth 8m eur (according to Fiorentina), then Quag is worth at most 4 million.

In any case, Quag's price is certainly more than 4m eur, but my point is that Fiorentina surely won't value him at 8-10m eur, as proposed in one of the above posts.

How could we possibly have a better chance of signing Cavani or Higuain next summer relative to this one.

because we can allocate a larger portion of the transfer kitty to their purchase and will have additional wage room once we're rid of Iaquinta/Krasic etc.

Quag is probably valued/worth around 5-6 Million in today's market. I don't think anyone would be willing to pay 10 Million for him, which automatically translates into his valuation being 5-6 Million by other teams. Juventus might value him @ 10 Million, but that would be rather daft, as there's no way anyone else sees him as being more than a 5-6 Million dollar player.

I wonder how much Martinez (whom we paid 14 Million for) is worth today?! :howler:

If we can get Jovetic and finalize Armero then we are golden.

Bring on the world.

Lastly, sell the deadwood we have. Next summer's mercato will be exciting I think. Maybe add 1 or 2 WC players if we need to (like Dzeko  or Higuain)

If we manage to win the Scudetto once more, and have a above average showing in the CL, we're gonna show the rest of Europe we are not playing around and we're here to kick ass. Cavani might not make it to CL and that might tempt him to come here, he might under-perform and his value might drop significantly. Higuain can simply be fed up by being on the bench, I really hope he flops hard at Madrid this upcoming season, thus meaning he won't get game time. Seeing us win, and compete seriously, Gonzalo would most likely be more than willing to come here specially if he were constantly riding the bench.

To make things even better, next mercato we won't have to buy mids, maybe 1 CB, LB and that's about it, our funds would most likely be focused on the attacking department.
