The top striker is the reason as to why I've chosen RVP over Jojo as an answer to baggio's question ( wishlist thread I think it was ). If we were to splash a rather large amount on our boy Stevan here, we probably won't get the kind of striker we'd want.

I didn't consider it before but if the club sells Giovinco, it might become a possibility, because he'd be sure to bring in significant money. Isla and Asamoah remain 50% transfers, and we have a few big sales still to make (Felipe Melo, Krasić, Elia). By then it could be too late though.

It is possible in theory.. we have plenty of players we could sell or even use in a deal to lower the price. Just imagine the near perfect scenario where we already have a deal in place for RVP and push for Jovetic over the summer. Add a CB/LB and we'd be a scary side.
It's hard not to get your hopes up ( for a change.. ) during this mercato. Especially since we're already moving so quickly, are the unbeating champions of Italy and CHL football. Not to mention all the talk about that top striker..

I think he means we should rather spend 25m on a poacher then a second striker.. But in all honesty I believe Jovetic is good enough for the kind of style we play.. We could sign a classic poacher kind of CF like Gomez of Bayern Munich but we don't play football like that. Our crosses ends up in the feet rather then in the head and there's no need for a Crouch when we can have a Messi.. So to speak..
Del Piero could never be replaced, never entirely. That's not possible. But I do think Jovetic would be worthy of being the "next great seconda punta" at Juventus. I think this signing would make a lot of sense now that Del Piero is gone.
And yes, I'd pass on the "top striker" in order to get him. First of all, it's not like we're getting one anyway. Second of all, Matri will do just fine with service from Vucinic and Jovetic.
