Man City also linked with Lacazette, you think they'll get both Bony and him?
The management at City have stated that they want to return to 4 international class strikers as soon as possible in a media statement last week.

According to the normally reliable Manchester Evening News they had picked three players from a shortlist. They were Bony, Cavani and Lacazette. Bony was the easiest to complete from a negotiiation perspective. They are severely resticted though in getting a second extra striker because of a second breach of the FFP regulations following their £49m fine 6months ago. It's thought that qualification for the CL KO phase guaranteed funds for the Bony purchase.

Anything else would have to be purchased from sale proceeds - Pellegrini said that in a pre match interview a few days ago. Some UK papers have stated/specualted (correctly) that if a second additional striker is to arrive two squad players will need to be offloaded. The 2 cited are Negredo and Jovetic.Off course that could change.

The arrival of Bony from his return from the ACoN in early February will, subject to him being injury free, see him as an automatic starter, alongside Sergio Aguero. Dzeko will be benched and assuming, Silva and Nasri are fit then Jovetic will struggle to start a match.

So what makes Lacazette 'international class' where Dzeko and Jovetic are not?
i wouldnt call Lacazette "international class" (whatever that means) already. this is his 1st great season and he has yet to prove that he can become a WC player. the potential is there certainly, if he can materialize it is yet to be seen.

A new toy is something that doesn't require any reasoning. At best there's someting like Lacazette's stats this season > Jovetic's.

I think getting Jovetic would be a big improvement for us. Tevez would be able to take a breath but they could play together easily too. If you want 433 you place him as LWF and you're good to go. Very creative player even if injury prone.

$#@! em'

if we sell Pogba  It's Cavani, Verratti and then we buy a good LB and trequartista/SS.
That's my view.

If we sell to PSG, Verratti is a must. Usually when you sell its at a premium so the players we receive should not be at a premium.

Verratti (35 million), Cavani (35 million) = 70 million EURO
He's worth 120 million IMO so I'd want another 50 million EURO.
It's a steep ask, but if a bidding war ensures (and I'd fully encourage disclosing all bids if one ensures), we should be able to obtain a massive overpayment. We should also include Rabiot just for lulz.

You then use part of the the remaining 50 to buy Christian Eriksen, and remainder to pay the increase in wages. You could also add a fullback as well if one is obtainable.

-----Cavani---Tevez--------
-----------Eriksen----------
Vidal-----Verratti----Marchisio

Depending on the team who we sell to I'd ask for a similar package, but I do believe PSG will pay the most given his French heritage, and they have the most attractive assets that they'd give up. I mean who would we get from City that they would "sell". Same with RM.

To be honest, I don't really know whether he is 'international class'.

I have seen him play twice this season and whilst he looked reasonably impressive, he was by no means outstanding.

City have been generally successful in their transfer dealings since they became rich beyond measure 5 years ago. That said, some, including Sinclair, Mangala, Savic, Nastasic and others have proved to be disappointing. The jury is still out on Mangala.

Personally, I would have a preference for Cavani ( at Juventus ) who is clearly tried and tested.

Two things: How is Eriksen even doing? And I agree, PSG has the best package deal to work with (Cavani & Veratti). Those two combined would give us more than Pogba can do himself.

The guy is a workhorse who doesn't stop scoring. Tracks back to help in defense and having Tevez doing the same thing would make us a very difficult team to score against.
