Yet another non high scoring SS? They are betting a lot on Llorente to regain his for from 2 years ago. If that doesn't work we'll be having the exact same issues again. That's why I think Higuain is the way to go.

But we're not looking for a high scoring SS, we're looking for a guy who can do exactly what Jovetic can. The role Mirko is playing but consistently better. And yes, we're showing faith in Llorente, which is why he's arriving on the highest salary we can give him.

A big reason why Llorente got a million or so more in salary was because he came to us for free and we didn't have to pay for a transfer fee.

What do you really expect from Jovetic though? From seeing what he has achieved with Viola the last few years and what he has produced, what is it you expect? Is he really that big of an upgrade from Vucinic? I can promise you though that Higuain will be a huge upgrade from anything we've had since prime Trezeguet was scoring for fun.

Can we please stop comparing players who do not play even remotely the same positions.

Jovetic is a huge upgrade over Vucinic. The kid is very good with his back towards the opposition goal, has good technique, good vision and in addition to that he's much more composed in front of goal than Vucinic when facing a goal scoring opportunity. He knows the Serie A and will be surrounded by much more talent here than he has ever been at Viola. Furthermore, he's far from reaching his peak as it is, and he's already better than Mirko. He does what he does on a consistent basis and has a pretty good work load.

Higuain would be brought in as a replacement for Llorente, which seems like a silly way of prioritizing when we need an secondary striker to do what Mirko does on his good days on a consistent basis, with added stamina.

We're talking two distinct categories of strikers here, Vucinic and Jovetic are in their own box while Llorente and Higuain are in their own box. A lot of our attacking play is built upon the foundation of having a Mirko-type in our team, which means that if we played Higuain - Llorente up top, that would bring a whole set of new issues to adress.

Admit it, you're just in love with lazy Montenegrins, aren't you. Poor excuse for Serb master race :colbert:

What is all this silly talk of being hesitant to give up Marrone in the deal?

I would

#1) Fly first class on Virgin Airways to Turin
#2) Rent out a Ferrari at the local Turin Hertz rent a car
#3) Pick Marrone up at his apartment
#4) Drive him to Florence
#5) Take him sightseeing and buy him a nice little souvenir book and I <3 Florence T-Shirt
#6) Buy him dinner
#7) Take him to a nightclub
#8) Get him laid
#9) Wash his nuts for him in the morning
#10) Drive him to Fiorentina Headquarters
#11) Carry him across the threshold, honeymoon style, into the waiting arms of Motella if that is what it took to get Jovetic to Juve.

All the while, being filmed for the purposes of You tube.

I do think Llorente and Higuain can work together and obviously Conte does too because they are pursuing him. Llorente can be used as a target man and Vucinic off the bench.

It just comes down to who the better player available is and Higuain is. He's one of those very rare striker who know how to score. And I think you're underestimating what Higuain brings. He's not just your typical poacher who is usually useless besides his finishing skills. Higuain is good with the ball and has been used as a winger many times for Real.

One is a top quality CF and the other one is not. It shouldn't really me that difficult, Higuain the better player in this comparison and Llorente's being her or not shouldn't be a factor in not signing him. Always get the best player available, especially when you have 5 mediocre strikers.

Yeah I think I've said all I need to say here. Higuain is at his very best when he is the most advanced forward with a creative player next to him. We can play with two out and out strikers but the system will change and the system has been working pretty well - which is why I'd like someone more like Mirko but with more consistency.

Why? Jojo and vuci have a great chemistry together.
They ripped apart Englands defence some months ago. Why not try it here and if it fails we still have Llorente.

Fucking war :sigh: I remember growing up in a unified Yugoslavia back in 82, right through 86. It was awesome.

I am sure he was a gr8 man; my condolences Bro.
Thanks :) . Yeah those are pretty much the stories I get from my parents right before they start going balkan swearing on everyone involved in the war on an executive level :D .

I remember the cold winters, and the awesome summers. I used to go to Dubrovnik quite often, and hotel Moskova to get cakes and sweets

My dad used to support Crvena Zvedza cuz they wore red and reminded him of Al Ahly in Egypt. Good times, good memories. Great seafood, but the winter weather was a bitch.

Anyway, JoJo :tuttosport: :tuttosport: :tuttosport:
