Worth a shot to be honest. If we want to risk, then we've got to make intelligent moves like this one. We could get him for under 8m IMO. Maybe 10 considering its viola, but still. Not a big investment, but again, not at the expense of the big signing.

at this point I'd only agree for jovetic transfer if it can be done max 20m euros and we would need to buy someone else too like nani if they could also be in 20m range

30m for this guy, I'd rather try suarez at 40m.

pretty sure 30 lands you Higuain, so jovetic who? really

Marotta should place a cheecky 15-18 mil bid, then leave it and continue negiotiating with higuain.

Wondering what viola rats will do now jovetic stock has decreased

Negotiating for Higuain would be interesting.

I'd guess that an offer of about 25m would be accepted by Real right now.

However, you might be able to get him for nearer 15m if you were to wait a while and it turned out there was little interest from other teams.

Do you go in big and get in done or do you gamble and try and save a fair chunk of cash?

This, of course, is all assuming that Higuain would want to sign for Juve.

I for one would still love to see Jovetic at Juventus. I have been very busy, and haven't seen that much of the rats this year, but I still have no reservations about this guy.

He picked up a thigh injury against Cagliari on the 30th of March, and was initially supposed to be out multiple weeks. Then those idiots decided to play him on the 7th of April against Milan, important match and all, and -surprise, surprise - he aggravated the injury and left that game early. He hasn't regained form yet, but for those of you who love stats, the player had 12 goals and 4 assists in the first 24 league games. Just about everybody on here was ready to give him a blowie after that brace against Inter... :D

Considering what transpired in the pre-season, and the tension obviously surrounding his situation (he's almost certainly leaving), it wouldn't shock me if he's having a bit of trouble staying focused at this juncture of the season, either. He's having a bit of a rough patch, but this young man is still only 23 years old, and has already demonstrated that he has leadership qualities for a young player - and also that the bright lights of the European stage aren't too big for him.

I still believe he is the type of player that a club can build around. He's a guy that we can give a significant raise to, and he'll still be within our wage structure. He's a player with a touch of pedigree, one who has some international recognition, and if things weren't to work out at Juventus, Jovetic is a player who Juventus could still recoup a great deal of the initial investment on.

I'm not sure what else Beppe has in the pipeline, but I see this as being the type of player we should be after (characteristics, age, current club situation, risk/reward, etc.). Considering that he's not being hyped to the moon in the media at the moment, and that there are other quality players available, it could be a good opportunity to make a move for the player.

I'm pretty confident that our Coach and DS still highly rate this player - even if some knee jerk fans, or those simply fed up with the player being overhyped by fanboys - have now decided that this guy is no longer a desirable target. I think we're going to hear a fair bit of Jovetic's name in the next couple months.

His career average is basically 1 in 3, he is slightly above that this season. I'm not sure why this year his goalscoring is a problem but before it wasn't.

In short, I wouldn't be expecting a tonne of goals from him, he's not a scorer.
That's all fine and well that his career average is 1 in 3, but considering the age of the player, and the fact that he lost an entire season of development to a knee injury, I'm not sure that those stats are going to be particularly useful for predicting future output. Right? I mean... obviously?

Over the past two seasons, he has 26 goals in 56 league games... and while that's not exactly groundbreaking, it does begin to sound to me like somebody who might have a knack for being a bit of a goalscorer - especially considering that he's currently 23 years old!

He's a good player but I don't think he's was we need anymore, his progress has worryingly stalled since his big injury.
I'd be careful making this type of a assessment, brother. Guy had 14 goals in 27 games the year after missing a full season with a major knee injury... as a 22 y/o. There's probably quite a lot going on with this player personally right now, the situation at the club is very much in flux (his own, +CL), and he's currently not at his best... but I imagine a change of scenery would do him a lot of good.

He's not a creator either.
What does this mean? As in, he's not strictly a creator? Because the guy has tremendous technique, and good vision, he would be a huge asset in our overall play - and that's part of creation. Useful in the buildup, laying off to Marchisio or Vidal around the box, the exchange and movement possible between he and Llorente, or he and Vucinic... the guy can definitely be creative.

He may not be posting big assist totals, but that doesn't mean he can't produce incisive passes. He's a pretty well rounded player, who would be a big, big boost to our squad.

Ok guys were doing exactly what happened last year. A whole list of potential quality signings and still there's people not satisfied. Stop getting carried away. If I could slap you all then I would. Wake up damn you.

& stop being so picky and annoying.

Hes not been boasting big assist numbers this year because theyve used him as an out and out ST almost throughout the season. Lack of options and ljajic blossoming lead to this.

I think at least a couple of teams would go after him. His numbers are pretty great ever since he went to Madrid, I highly doubt his price would be 15mln, it's just too low tbh.

But getting him for less money than Matri would be epic.

I think that's where his uneventful season stemmed from to be honest.

Jovetic is being deployed as a CF in a 4-3-3, with Ljajic and Cuadrado on the wings.

Jovetic is a SS/Winger, and with a target man like Llorente - someone to play the ball off too, he will shine.
