Jovetic has thigh injury

Stevan Jovetic limped off during Fiorentina’s 2-1 defeat to Cagliari and tests confirmed he pulled a muscle in his thigh.

The Montenegro international lasted only half-an-hour in Sardinia before hobbling off the field this afternoon.

Fiorentina released a statement noting he has pulled a muscle in his thigh and “the entity of the injury will be better defined after tests to be performed within the next 24-36 hours.”

It would be a heavy blow for the Viola to lose Jovetic, as next week they take on Milan in a head-to-head for third place.
