He'd have greater leverage in asking for players, and we'd have more chance of signing them with the extra money and prestige, but it's not as if we are going to spend money just because he demands it. The money is either there or it isn't.

Things can change very quickly. He seemed very pissed in January when asked about the transfer market and was always short with reporters.

Conte shouldn't have to make do with 3rd or 4th choices because that is damn right disrepectful considering what he's done.
So because he has done well we can now compete for the likes of RvP, Agüero etc?

I actually like Diamanti but that was an example. Then again I thought it was Conte who didn't want all those players that Marotta "failed" to deliver.
Nobody knows really however I think players of the calibre of Jovetic is who he more then likely requested instead of Anelka or Bendtner.

Nobody is asking us to make a number of moves that would cost 60-70-80 million. This team doesn't need that. However financially we should be looking to add one 25-30 million player which we should be able to achieve. We're making a fair amount of money off Champions League and other revenue streams. Marotta hasn't got an excuse this summer and if he doesn't deliver who Conte wants. I think we can say goodbye to Antonio after next season.
Nah, Conte will stay for 3-4 years at least. I heard he was getting more influence then originally in his contract.

On the big spending I totally agree. I referred to RM only to underline how a big money player can generate the money back to the club via shirt sales. I believe anything in the region of ~30m € is a possibility this summer. But Marotta will look at Sanchez, Jovetic, Lewandowski etc for a maximum fee of ~25m €. Either one of these player signings, and the popularity increase from a good CL would allow us to sell tons of shirts

No, because those wages are out of our range. However Jovetic or even Sanchez we can afford. Yet Marotta failed last year in acquiring either, despite Conte wanting Jovetic. Why else would we be chasing him most of the window?

@Jay,

If Juventus cannot afford a player at 25 million, then we shouldn't be in the market this summer. You and I know we can, but Marotta seems incapable of negotiating for one.

Jovetic needs to wear a Juve jersey next season. Our attack would be sublime. Let's get Isla firing on all cylinders and teach Asamoah how to cross and let the goals begin.

Or Sanchez.

You are seriously delusional if you think that all of our attacking players in three seasons will be better than Vucinic.
They don't all have to be. Our starting duo must be better than Vucinic by then. Jovetic this summer, and then we can add Higuain in 2 seasons if Llorente fails to impress. Boayke should have blossomed by then, and I guess we can keep Vucinic as an option off the bench. The 5'th striker role can be filled by another youngster.

:yuck: :inter: I fail to see how he'd be an upgrade. Enough wasting money on stop gap solutions.

We will sign Anelka permanently, that's your big signing of the next summer. End of discussion.
nightmare scenario right there. Total disappointment :D

You're assuming either player is available for that fee, of course. Actually there's nothing to suggest Jovetic is available for €25m.

We all know how the club operates in the market, but I was simply replying to your point about Conte 'demanding' players. If we are holding money back or refusing to negotiate at a certain level I don't know how this changes because a coach does well. It's pretty obvious he can get more money for players elsewhere, but we are not talking about a normal coach. He is supposed to be in it with us.

We need a quality SS. That is beyond question. Llorente could be a surprise, and he is a minimum risk signing, considering he was bought on a free.

A club of the magnitude of Juventus should be able to raise extra money, if they really wanted to. 7-8 Million extra Euros isn't going to make or break us; we are not Siena FFS!

Maybe but it was reported many times that the players we failed to land were because Conte didn't want them. I don't buy this excuse, it is just given to please the fans instead of showing where the real failure lies.

Llorente needs a quality SS to operate next to. This team desperately needs 2 upfront working in tandem.

Please God...plz

Yep, that's papering over the cracks that shows Marotta is incapable of negotiating for high value players.

Listen, Marotta has done a great job rebuilding Juventus into having one of the best squads in the World and he definitely deserves praise. However the difference between a good SD and a special one is the ability to land special players.

As said Marotta has gotten away with the quantity over quality mindset because some of the players he's signed have turned out to be quality however this was only achieveable with a manager we good as Conte.

This summer though, Juventus only need one player, yes one player. However that player needs to be a special player. Marotta if he goes signing players of Osvaldo ilk, he will be deemed a failure for this summer and for me should pay for it with his job, so we can bring in someone who can negotatite for high value players and get them. Financially Jovetic is easily affordable for us, its how Marotta uses the money. If I were in his position, I'd spend the budget on Jovetic after redeeming our players on loan and close the market for incoming buys.

You just know we'll get to know summer and he'll go for Osvaldo because he can pass him off as an improvement and he's in the range of Marotta's negotiating skills. We'll be in for a rough ride next year if so.

Fuck Osvaldo. That pirate cunt would be a disgusting signing, and hardly the upgrade we need :yuck: :inter:

Llorente should be the starting target man, with Matri being his back-up.

Sell Quag, and if anyone makes an offer for Gio, get rid of him too. Bring in JoJo, have Vucinic be the impact sub off the bench, and round off the strikers quintet with a youngster :donedeal:
