Release clause?

Suns, my man, mellow. Get on the mic cuz you know you eat Jello.

Let's go under the assumption that Jovetic will indeed go for either straight cash or a combination of cash and players for the total that was thrown around last year of 30 million. Which, might I add, I don't believe will be the case. I think he will go for less than that, but I digress.

Who out there, for 30 million, would you rather they spend the money on?

Suarez? Yeah, he's worth that. But he's also a mental midget that makes Mario Balotelli look like Mother Theresa. Anyone else? Also let's consider the age factor, and the fact that he is 23, and also a striker, easily the most overpriced position on the market.
Why would I need to spend the 30m at all? Just because there isn't any players I would spend 30m on means that I have to spend it on someone who isn't worth it?

I would much rather spend around 20m on Sanchez or Higauin. Or pay more if an opportunity presented itself to sign Suarez. I just don't see Jovetic as good as those players, especially not for 30m.

I guess that here is where you and I happen to disagree. I don't put Sanchez on the level of Jovetic. I never did. And as I had stated earlier with Suarez, he is far too temperamental for my liking. His actions are borderline divisive.

You know what's going to be great?

Listening to all the people criticising Marotta if he 'only' manages to sign one of them, as if that wasn't very good.

You'll see the claims that have come out in the last day or so used to abuse Marotta if he comes up with anything short of a mind-blowingly brilliant mercato.
 spot on as always, Red

The media successfully works most Tuz members into a frenzy, with claims that were gonna sign at least two superstars in attack and linking us with every single name in world football, and the naive and gullible clowns who follow the transfer news of Tuttosporr, Gazzetta etc will eat it up with glee.

We are going to be lucky to sign one top player in attack let alone two. And that is the cold, harsh reality most people need to live with.

Sanchez for a bargain is way better than Jovetic for 30m.

Here is the thing though, I want goals which means Higauin. We still need a finisher in this team, that is our biggest priority. Llorente is good and all but he's coming off a nightmare season. Jovetic isn't a goalscorer. If we're going to spend money on a SS it should really be someone who knows how to score. Somebody like Suarez or Ibra. Jovetic though? I'm still waiting for him to have one of those spectacular seasons where he can actually deserve a 30m price tag.

    @Mark is this your source?

Salvatore Bagni to Radio Kiss Kiss: "Jovetic's agent told me he is very close to joining Juventus."
that and Franco Leonetti of the show Forza Juve on rete7 channel.

Seems to have disappeared the way the big threads do once every so often for some reason.

    I've given Marty a shout.
I think it's time for a new thread. The old one had to many pages anyway.

Aside from Jovetic being a very good player, the old two-birds-with-one-stone aspect of this transfer has to be very attractive, since there seems to be a reasonable prospect of Juve getting rid of a player in the deal.

Would make life quite a bit easier for Juve if one of the players they want to sell goes to Fiorentina.
    This!!!!
We can't exchange players with real madrid for Higuain or with barcelona for sanchez... but getting rid of the 2.somethingM wages of a striker almost in his 30ies is another good thing about this deal...

IMO: a striker + 15M would be perfect... Jovetic is only 23 and if you watch fiorentina a couple of matches you can clearly see that he is way better than our current strikers

Every year this comes up, last year with Cavani and Van Persie , the year before Aguero, Dzeko.
And every year, we end up with Bendtner, Borriello, Toni or Anelka.
I don't believe it anymore until we eventually have our top striker.
And then I don't mean when he is 30 and over his top like the ones mentioned above (ok, Borriello and Bendtner aren't over 30, but never were top).
Unless www.juventus.com states that a player like Jovetic or Higuain is ours, I will stick with a front line of Quag, Matri, Llorente, Vucinic and Gio for next season.

true, but if you were aguero... would you go to a juventus that wasn't playing in the CL?
last year was shit i admit... but this summer has to change everything, right?

And last summer, we were also champion back then?
Nah, serieA is jus tnot attractive anymore and can't compete with EPL, Ligue 1 (ok, a few teams only), Bundesliga (Bayern, Dortmund) or even the Russian league wrt wages and transfer fees.
And no matter what they say, eventually, that is what counts for the player.
I am sure that, if we would strike a deal with Fiorentina, they will also receive an offer from an big EPL club for him, and he'll get a higher wage and we'll miss out on him.
Things need to change in Italy first, or the top players won't be joining/staying in SerieA for much longer anymore.

True... the serie A is losing every year...
last year we almost got van persie, but united offered more cash to arsenal.. Our board is fapping over the break even and thats why we can't "just" buy suarez, cavani or aguero...

this is the reason why jovetic is our priority nr 1 because he wants to stay in italy, but wants to play CL.. and we can offer him more than what he earns at fiorentina...

no way in hell we can compete with the other leagues in terms of wages... thats why we focus on italy so much..
