Hmmm, it's the danger with comparing ability alongside form. Last season I think Abate had a storming season - for his level - even though he's not a fantastic defender. For example I noticed he also made it into a few 'team of the year' selections.

However I still believe Lichtsteiner to be better, I prefer my fullbacks like that.

Haven't seen Lich that much as I've seen Abate. Abate's season was really impressive as some of you mention. I rate Abate higher but it's not really a fair rating since I've seen Abate a lot more.

Good performance by Lichtsteiner.

He is a hard working mofo, I can see the combo with Krasic working well next season. We just need to replicate that on the left hand side now.

Very solid performance from him. Just needs to work on his delivery and we'll finally have a worthwhile fullback.

Yeah I agree, some of his crosses were a bit off but overall his performance was very solid.

We need more no-nonsense players like this in the team.
