If we get Stank I am pretty sure Xabi is not going to come.

My thinking is Stank will come and will will get the "surprise" .. which might .. if we are lucky .. be Drenthe on loan or something ? or a LB???

if we are unlucky ... Tudor ..

hahaha

jokes aside though I don't hate Stank as much as most of you guys and think he could do really well here. He is a quality player .. just out of form. Like Sissoko was at Liverpool before he came here, he could hardly make a pass. We all know Stankovic is capable of playing great football and can play CM, LM, RM or CAM.

This is a type of player we need give the fact Nedved is 36, Camo is injury prone and Giovinco has little CL experience.

9.2m € and could be a 4 year contract (2012).

2 sources confirm it. One with the 9.2m and the other for the contract length.

I'll add that Xabi will also join us. It's impossible we spend so little.

Xabi will join us for sure IMO. They arent that incompetent or cheap (they are willing to offer 18m, Pool wants 20m, small leap).

Unlikely, but God help them if they try to sell Stanko as only signing.

Could look like this:

Buffon/Manninger/Belardi; Zebina/Grygera, Legrottaglie/Mellberg/Andrade, Chiellini/Knezevic, Molinaro/De Ceglie; Camoranesi/Salihamidzic, Sissoko/Marchisio, Alonso/Zanetti, Nedved/Stankovic; Trezeguet/Amauri, Del Piero/Iaquinta/Giovinco.

- I put Manninger but it could be Roma, Sorrensen or any other cheap keeper.
- Marchionni would be the odd man out and we should get about 5m € out of it.
- If they really loan out Andrade in exchange of Flavio Roma then Ivanovic on loan with right to buy for about 12m € would be sweet.

Good team, I just dont like the right to buy part for Branislav. We wont be allowed to use it if he impresses us enough to use that option. So trying to buy him first is better. Dont like the idea for Drenthe either if it would happen.

But yeah, I like the idea of Andrade loaned out, dont think he will contribute much, and its better he gets back to regular football without the stress of playing for Juve.

If that's actually the team, then I would want it to be this:

Buffon

Zebina - Mellberg - Chiellini - De Ceglie

Sissoko

Camoranesi - Xabi Alonso

Giovinco

Trezeguet - Del Piero

I have no problem with throwing Giovinco into the heat.

But that's the thing, you don't know that. He's already back in training. And if Andrade can play like he did when he first joined us, that automatically makes him better than Knezevic. Don't throw him away yet.

That teams looks good Andy, but change place with Sissoko and Xabi, he is a strictly holding midfielder who stays behind and distributes, like Pirlo, or he Pirlo goes up occasionally atleast, Xabi doesnt. And Momo can play one step further up (presses aggressively high up), doing the defensive work all over (instead of just sit), plus contributing with box to box runs.

And yeah, I would like Andrade to suprise me, but I dont expect anything.

I dont get why we dont just offer 20 million because we have enough money to do so. I just want this deal done im sick to death of this. I would welcome Stankovic ONLY if Alonso joins too. But if Alonso doesnt join Stankovic can piss off. Knowing Secco (i mean Sucko) he will sign Stankovic and lose out on Alonso. I pray to god that doesnt happen. But i am willing to give Stankovic a chance if we get Alonso, but Juve just should not miss out on such a talented player like Alonso. Plus i was already planning on getting him name on my new Juve shirt

I think Xabi can be even more decisive for us with him attacking further up the field like he did at Sociedad.. at least maby better than Momo. he can make a good final pass and has a good shot.

Well it doesn't matter where exactly Sissoko or Xabi are placed in that midfield; it is assumed while playing that they will both sit in front of the defense and it will be up to the left-back to carry the weight on the wings, like Zambro with Lippi, which worries me. Both Sissoko and Xabi will hold down the center of the pitch, but Xabi will work his way more forward and check around for the ball, while Sissoaker (soak it up) will stay centrally deep in midfield to protect our potentially mediocre defense.

Basically what will happen is Xabi will have a little more room to create and move out towards the flanks to check.

How about this idea if we're short on strikers:

Buffon

Zebina - Mellberg - Chiellini - De Ceglie

Stankovic - Sissoko - Xabi Alonso

Camoranesi - Giovinco

Amauri

Looks sick on paper.

well when Momo came here Ranieri game him more offensive responsibilities than Rafa did when he was at pool and I defn think Xabi will be allowed to venture forward more often ... because Rafa had to accommodate for the huge ego that is Steven Gerrard who always wants to play as an attacking mid and this prevents Xabi from being allowed to be more creative.

Well, seeing our defense is the way it is and how Sissoko played defensively last season, it's obvious we need Momo right there in front of the defense. I mean, the guy sometimes single-handedly destroyed opposition attacks. If we make sure he stays there and holds, we are good defensively against counters. That way we can let Xabi have more freedom to check to the ball and run things a la Pirlo. Then with Giovinco cutting through the middle and out to the wings, as well Camoranesi on the right, we should be good going forward really. MUCH better than previous seasons, as long as Ranieri lets them play a little.

But again, the problem will be at left-back.
