Canadian Casino Wins Beckham Ball

A Canadian gambling company has won the auction for the ball that David Beckham blazed over the bar during a shootout with Portugal at Euro 2004.
An Internet casino has paid more than $45,000 Canadian (28,050 euros) for the ball David Beckham booted high into the crowd during England’s penalty shootout loss to Portugal in the European Championship quarter-finals. The auction for the ball ended Thursday.

The ball was caught by a Spanish supporter after Beckham scuffed his penalty kick way over the bar.

Upon catching the ball the Spanish supporter said "I can't believe I ended up with it because I was sitting so far away."
