Hmm, strange. I appreciate both types of players and love the tactical aspect of the game, but I couldn't imagine someone who enjoys watching Gattuso more than Ronaldinho. The tricks, flicks and skill makes the game fun in my view.

I mean, if people want to see brute force in real football then perhaps they should watch American football because it would make more sense IMO.
couldnt agree more. We all appreciate the tactical side of the game, but nothing beats the romantic side of the game displayed by players like Messi, Riquelme, Ronaldinho and co. Its what makes football that much more special than other sports.

Sometimes a fighter is more enjoyable to watch than a ballet dancer.
That's not a very accurate analogy if you ask me. What players like Ronaldinho do on the pitch isn't exactly graceful and pretty, it's ingenuic, creative, and imaginative. Gatusso is the type of player that goes out there and tries his best to win you the tactical battle. Ronaldinho is the type of player that goes out there and creates pieces of brilliant football that would eventually make his team win. It's obvious why the latter is praised more than the former.

Personally, I don't see how someone can dislike beautiful football. The very reason of football's massive appeal in the world is its beauty, if you take that out you really aren't left with anything. Imagine a game without any creativity or trickery, where's the fun in that?

I suppose it's a matter of taste in the end, but surely, anyone who is a fan of beauty, art, and creativity would greatly appreciate someone like Ronaldinho.

It was a surreal and brilliant game, but mainly a freak game, IMO this game doesnt change much of their issues.

Nothing wrong with Messis freekick goal, he is allowed to take the kick, and he did. Only fishy thing was the pk they got, the second goal, was quite weak.

Btw, those knee-jerkers who hailed Ujfalusi as the special defender that got away from us due to Secco stupidity, you should have seen this game. Slowest and worst defending I have seen in a long while. He really really sucked, heh.

Come on though, Osman. In Serie A Ujfalusi was a good defender. Don't make it seem like he was a Barzagli or something.

No, no, not saying this performance was the norm for him (seen him for Atleti games, and he has been ok as usual, not total suckage as this game, he was really exposed in the individual limitations he has).

But it would have been a funny game to see for those who overrated the fuck out of him just because we didnt sign him. He is quite a decent defender (who is suited more for RB then CB, too slow on the turns for a CB), nothing more, doesnt deserve the missed saviour tag because he isnt the top CB we need or would have been an upgrade.

Oh, he would be an upgrade to either of Grygera or Knezevic, that's for damned sure. Not sure about Mellberg yet.
I mean as a starter for CB. He wouldnt be an upgrade there, but the same (him and Mellberg are the same, Legro too, and Chiellini better then him). Ofcourse I would prefer him over Knezevic.

And even if he isnt offensive enough, he is a better defender then Grygera so would prefer him as RB too. But as said, people were asking for top Ds and clear upgrades, and he isnt one really, even if a decent choice.

I only enjoy watching flicks and tricks if it is against good defending. I've no interest, as a neutral, in watching a great striker round rings round a shit defender, which is partly why I don't really like La Liga.

However, watching Kaka, Ronaldinho and Seedorf doing their thing agaisnt Inter was great, because Inter defended pretty well and made them work hard to do anything good.
