Look at the right side, there are three Madrid defenders against one Valencia player while Canna tries to handle against three. You can't blame him.

I'm agree with you. Madrid since 4-5 (even more) seasons doesn't have a good defense, even when they have players to do a great wall down there.
Maybe he has a part to blame there. But make no sense to have 3 defenders with one player. Who is that player, btw? Villa?

Pepe and Ramos are idiots as far as I'm concerned.

Physically great and very good one-on-one defenders, but very rash and I don't rate either's positioning.

But there you go, comes down to the style of defender you like.

Like his style or hate his style Pepe is a much better defender than Cannavaro right now. Part of their defensive problems can be attributed to Pepe's absence, who has been Real's best defender this year.


No doubt that Canna was poor today, actually his partner Metzielder did much better than him, and at least cut out a few balls. Cannavaro was slow and clumsy, did you see his clearances? they almost always went to a Valencia player and they never passed the midfield line.
